Vitalant is seeking a Sr. Financial Analyst to support enterprise-wide financial planning, budgeting, and strategic decision-making in alignment with our mission to help save and improve lives through blood donation and transfusion medicine. This role partners closely with the VP of FP& A and cross-functional teams to analyze financial statements, develop models and projections, guide project teams with financial insights, and assist with monthly close processes. The analyst will also lead monthly, quarterly, and annual Finance Committee and Board reporting, while supporting cash flow forecasting, strategic investment modeling, and the development of impactful financial reports and dashboards that enable data-driven leadership decisions.

This position will have a hybrid work environment operating from the Scottsdale, AZ location 3 days per week and working from a remote/ at-home office 2 days per week.

As a Sr. Financial Analyst, you'll get to:
  • Prepare clear, high-impact Board of Directors, Finance Committee, and executive reporting, including presentations, dashboards, KPI tracking, and variance analysis against budget and strategic plans.
  • Partner with FP& A leadership to deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual finance cycles, including divisional reporting, analysis of revenue and expenses vs. budget, and performance insights for leadership.
  • Build and maintain rolling cash flow forecasts, liquidity models, and scenario/stress testing to support capital allocation and financial planning.
  • Develop and maintain financial models (DCF, ROI, pro-forma) to evaluate strategic initiatives, including investments, new products, and potential M& A opportunities, and monitor existing investment performance.
  • Monitor key business drivers and KPIs, proactively review costs, identify variances, and recommend forecast updates or corrective actions.
  • Support capital expenditure planning and budget management, including review and approval of purchase requisitions for proper coding and budget alignment.
  • Contribute to the month-end close process, including accruals, analysis, and recommended accounting adjustments.
  • Create and maintain reports, dashboards, and analytics that provide real-time insights to corporate and operational leadership.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with treasury, accounting, and business partners to ensure accurate projections, working capital assumptions, and financial deliverables.
  • Conduct research and ad-hoc analysis, communicate findings effectively to leadership, and ensure compliance with financial policies, controls, and applicable regulations.


Requirements

Knowledge / Education
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field required.
  • Working knowledge of financial statements, financial strategies, and budget development required.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate large volumes of financial data into clear strategic narratives for stakeholders and leadership.
Experience
  • 5 years of financial analysis, FP& A, corporate finance, or related experience required.
  • Strong financial acumen and analytical capability, including data mining, forecasting model development, and scenario analysis.
  • Advanced technical proficiency in Microsoft Excel (complex formulas, modeling, macros) required.
  • Experience with financial planning, budgeting, and reporting systems (Workday Adaptive or similar tools) required.

  • Ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights and executive-level presentations.
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and time-management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines in a high-pressure environment.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, including explaining financial concepts to non-financial audiences.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and effectively interact with all levels of management.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking, strong teamwork, and the ability to successfully perform all assigned duties and responsibilities.
