Wellness Floor Attendant - Desert Foothills YMCA

Provides instruction and leadership and maintains a safe environment in the fitness area interacting with members. RESPONSIBILITIES OF A WELLNESS FLOOR ATTENDANT: Provides fitness floor and equipment orientations. Engage members daily. Refers members to programs and concierge. Demonstrates clear explanations and exercise material with proper form and technique. Develops positive relationships with participants and provides motivational support and guidance. Encourages member involvement and identifies potential volunteers. Increases participant awareness of all healthy lifestyle factors. Operates all equipment properly and promptly reports any problems. Maintain, clean and stock designated facility areas (dusting, sweeping, mopping, cleaning windows, restrooms, etc.) Follows all YMCA policies, rules, regulations, and procedures, including emergency procedures. Completes incident and accident reports, as necessary. *This is not an exhaustive list of job duties. Other duties, responsibilities and activities may be assigned. REQUIREMENTS TO BE A WELLNESS FLOOR ATTENDANT: 18 years of age or older. Current state approved First-Aid and CPR certification. Knowledge of all Y programs. Ability to motivate others in the areas of self-awareness and self-confidence. Possesses mature judgment and sound decision-making. Must be observant, safety conscious and able to react calmly and quickly in an emergency. Knowledge and experience of healthy lifestyles including demonstrated ability to teach and train various levels and abilities of fitness. Ability to communicate effectively. Demonstrate an aptitude for basic computer skills.
