VALLEY OF THE SUN YOUNG MEN'S CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATION is hiring a Program Counselor - Camp Sky Y in Prescott, AZ. This is a full-time position.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF A PROGRAM COUNSELOR: Create positive lasting memories for each child, each day.Assist in creating entertaining activities for all ages at assigned program area.Spend your days with camp participants during meals, cabin time and activities.Lead and supervise children through fun interactive activities indoors and outdoors. *This is not an exhaustive list of job duties. Other duties, responsibilities and activities may be assigned. REQUIREMENTS TO BE A PROGRAM COUNSELOR: 16 years of age or older.Current CPR certification.Minimum 6 months qualifying experience.Current state approved first-aid certification.Possess knowledge and desire to work with childrenPossess mature judgement and sound decision-making.Ability to effectively communicate information on outdoor programs.Ability to communicate effectively with members, peers and supervisor.Must be observant, safety conscious and able to react calmly and quickly in an emergency.Must live on-site for the ten-week summer program. *Availability from approximately May thru August SEASONAL BENEFITS: Ten-weeks of room and boardFree YMCA Staff Membership OUR YMCA CULTURE: The Valley of the Sun YMCA has been a trusted place of belonging, growth, and opportunity.
