VALLEY OF THE SUN YOUNG MEN'S CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATION is hiring a Facilities Maintenance Technician - Valley-Wide in Phoenix, AZ. This is a full-time position.

The Facilities Maintenance Technician may be responsible for the maintenance of one or multiple branch locations and provide technical knowledge to the building operations and maintenance. The Maintenance Technician will complete tasks associated with the full operation of the YMCA facility and equipment. This position is part of a team that oversees and completes major projects, assisting with vendor management, recommending vendors, and coordinating vendor quotes. This position ensures that our YMCA facilities are high quality and properly maintained and operated within budget. RESPONSIBILITIES OF A FACILITIES MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN: Working knowledge of, preventative maintenance practices, SDS guidelines, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, etc. Inspects, and participates in the inside and outside maintenance of the building, complying with all Association standards and safety procedures. Communicates to all stakeholders (metro, vendors, branch, and facilities staff) ensuring they have up to date information on facility changes and/or repairs. Provides training/information to branch staff and/or volunteers regarding. Completes all work as assigned and in accordance with project timelines and specifications. Purchases, maintains, and controls supplies necessary for scheduled repairs. Maintains monthly inventory and provides the inventory control log to supervisor upon request. Responsible for managing and controlling the facility and maintenance department budget. Ensures that facilities, equipment, and supplies are maintained and stored in an orderly and safe manner. Although not directly responsible for the maintenance of branch pools, while at assigned branches will provide feedback to his/her immediate supervisor regarding pool concerns such as deck surface, pool floor surface, pool room, chemical balance, etc.) Develops and maintains preventative maintenance calendar for all equipment in his/her assigned branch. Participates in the annual fundraising campaign efforts and other committees as assigned. Represents the branch at various meetings related to the position. Incorporates the mission, philosophy and 4 core values of the YMCA in all communication with participants and co-workers. Works as a team to set standards, review work orders and oversee the quality of subcontracted work. Performs other job duties as assigned. *This is not an exhaustive list of job duties. REQUIREMENTS TO BE A FACILITIES MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN: Working knowledge of, preventative maintenance practices, SDS guidelines, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, etc. Ability to Maintain assigned facilities while educating branch maintenance staff on specific maintenance tasks and needs. Two or more years of facilities maintenance experience. Experience with computers including word processing and spreadsheet software. Ability to communicate skillfully with staff, members, and volunteers. Ability to effectively communicate general information on YMCA Programs. Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations in accordance with safety protocols. Current certifications in CPR, First Aid, AED.
