VALLEY OF THE SUN YOUNG MEN'S CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATION is hiring a After School Program Counselor - Watts Family Maryvale YMCA in Phoenix, AZ. This is a full-time position.
Assist in planning, development, and implementation of all activities at a program site during the school year or summer. RESPONSIBILITIES OF A PROGRAM COUNSELOR: Create positive lasting memories for each child, each day.Must be able to get bus driver certified and be able to drive a minibus.Lead children through fun interactive activates such as arts & crafts, gym games and so much more. *This is not an exhaustive list of job duties. Other duties, responsibilities and activities may be assigned. REQUIREMENTS TO BE A PROGRAM COUNSELOR: Minimum age of 18.Must enjoy working with children.Current fingerprint clearance card and negative TB or the ability to obtain.A positive energetic attitude.Imagination and creativity.Flexible schedule availability After School: W: 12: 30-6: 30pm M, T, Th, & Fri: 2: 30-6: 30pm Possess knowledge and desire to work with children. Possess mature judgment and sound decision-making. Ability to communicate effectively with members, peers, and supervisor. Ability to effectively communicate information on YMCA Child Care Programs. Must be observant, safety conscious and able to react calmly and quickly in an emergency.
