Bandsaw Operator

Title: Cut Room Bandsaw Operator Department: Hard Armor Reports to: Hard Armor Supervisor Summary of Position: The Cut Room Bandsaw Operator is responsible for cutting armor plates to specification using a bandsaw in a high-volume manufacturing environment. This position requires consistent adherence to safety protocols, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Operators are expected to maintain equipment, ensure cut quality, and meet daily production targets. ___________________________ Duties & Responsibilities: Operate a bandsaw to cut ballistic plates and raw material according to cut lists and production schedules. Use a belt sander as needed to smooth edges and ensure cut quality. Inspect raw materials and finished cuts for defects or deviations from specifications. Wear and maintain all required personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirator mask, gloves, and eye protection, throughout the shift. Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of the bandsaw and work area. Accurately record quantities, part numbers, and job information on production paperwork or digital tracking systems. Work closely with the Cut Room Supervisor to prioritize work and support production flow. Follow all company safety policies and report any unsafe conditions or equipment issues immediately. Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment. ________________________________________ Qualifications: 1+ year of experience in a manufacturing or machine operation environment preferred. Prior experience operating a bandsaw or similar cutting machinery is a plus. Must be able to wear a respirator for extended periods. Ability to stand for 10 hours per shift and lift up to 50 lbs regularly. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality standards.
