Job Summary The Release Training Engineer (RTE) will lead and coordinate Aile Release Trains (ART) and responsibilities include managing and optimizing the flow of value through the ART, facilitating Program Increment (PI) planning, fostering Agile practices and mindset, and coaching leaders and teams. The RTE's role is to align teams to a common technological and business vision and ensure the delivery of high-quality solutions while fostering an environment of continuous improvement and collaboration.
Education & Experience Required: • Bachelor's degree in Technology, Information Systems, Business, Healthcare or other related fields or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 5 years release train engineer or equivalent experience
• Experience working with and leading cross-functional teams, including developers, project managers, and business stakeholders, to deliver IT solutions
• Knowledge of the Scaled Agile Framework SAFe 6
• Demonstrated success in facilitating and negotiating solutions across enterprise applications
• Demonstrated ability to lead and influence stakeholders across all levels of the organization
• Requires DoD security clearance
• US Citizen
• Must be able to receive a favorable Interim and adjudicated final Department of Defense (DoD) background investigation
Preferred: • Experience in a healthcare industry environment
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies, including experience with Jira or similar tools
• Experience in managing teams in a multi-system environment
• Knowledge of compliance and regulatory requirements specific to the industry, such as HIPAA, PHI, PII, HITRUST
Key Responsibilities Facilitating PI Planning
• Preparation: RTE ensures that all teams are ready for PI planning by understanding the business context, program vision, and expected outcomes.
• Facilitation: RTE manages the event, ensuring alignment of objectives and addressing inter-team dependencies.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Involving Product Owners, Business Owners, and other stakeholders, the RTE ensures that everyone is aligned on the program's vision.
• Team Support: RTE fosters collaboration across teams, ensuring that objectives are well understood, and potential roadblocks are identified early. Supporting PI Execution
• Impediment Removal: RTE ensure that teams can focus on value delivery by removing obstacles that might hinder progress.
• Facilitating Sync Meetings: The RTE organizes and facilitates regular sync meetings such as Scrum of Scrums (SoS) and PO Syncs to maintain alignment across the ART.
• Tracking Progress: Monitoring the ART's progress is crucial, and the RTE ensures teams stay on track, adjusting plans as needed. Coaching the ART
• Lean-Agile Mindset: The RTE encourages teams to adopt Agile principles while also focusing on Lean practices that improve efficiency and flow.
• Facilitating Ceremonies: The RTE supports various Agile ceremonies, including PI Planning, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives, ensuring they run smoothly. Optimizing Flow
• Enhance Team Flow: The RTE works with Scrum Masters to improve team-level performance, addressing issues like task prioritization, work distractions, and backlog refinement.
• Optimize ART Flow: At the ART level, the RTE focuses on optimizing value delivery by ensuring smooth collaboration between teams and eliminating cross-team dependencies. Relentless Improvement
• Facilitating Inspect and Adapt Workshops: RTE helps teams reflect on their progress and identify both successes and areas for growth.
• Continuous Learning: The RTE ensures that teams continuously improve by encouraging feedback loops and a focus on building quality into every aspect of the delivery process.
Competencies Commitment to Task: Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and skilled at prioritizing work based on business needs and project timelines.
Communication / People Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of articulating technical concepts to diverse and non-technical stakeholders. Ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders at all levels as well as skilled in managing expectations and facilitating productive discussions between business and IT teams.
Independent Thinking / Self-Initiative: Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and make decisions to achieve desired outcomes without constant supervision.
Information Management: Ability to ingest large amounts of complex information, synthesize, translate clearly and concisely to communicate to various stakeholder groups.
Leadership: Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team to achieve project goals and organizational objectives.
Multi-Tasking / Time Management: Ability to prioritize and manage team responsibilities and commitments to meet deadlines and requirements within a dynamic and demanding environment.
Problem Solving / Analysis: Ability to solve complex problems through systematic analysis of processes with sound judgment and realistic understanding of relevant issues.

Technical Skills: In-depth understanding of business process analysis, system design, and technology landscape. Ability to navigate and manage complex IT environments, and align IT solutions with business objectives and long-term strategies.
Working Conditions • Works within a work from home office arrangement
• Works onsite as required within standard office working conditions, with minimal work-related travel required
• Extensive computer work with long periods of sitting
• Availability to work non-regular hours as required
