Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in biological or biomedical sciences
• Completion of a NAACLS-accredited Pathologists' Assistant program
• 3-5 years of experience in an academic or teaching hospital setting
• Strong organizational skills and ability to train and support staff
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and work flexible hours
• Comfortable working in an indirect patient-care environment with standard precautions

Travel Pathologist Assistant Contract Details:

• $3, 000 - $3, 181 per week*
• 13-week contract with possibility to extend
• { { Shift Length} } shifts | 40 hrs/wk

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform gross examination, dissection, photography, and dictation for surgical specimens of all complexity levels
• Assist with frozen sections and intra-operative consultations
• Support autopsy procedures as required
• Orient specimens and serve as a liaison between surgeons and pathologists
• Evaluate renal biopsy adequacy and prepare tissue for diagnosis
• Maintain quality standards, instrument care, and specimen documentation
• Provide education and training to residents, fellows, and medical students
• Maintain secure photography archives and assist with research and procedural updates
