Job Summary

Proposal managers support Sundt's efforts to win work by developing compelling, client-focused pursuit and presentation materials. This position supports the Transportation Group by leading pursuits for heavy civil construction projects. Working closely with pursuit leaders and business development personnel, proposal managers create proposals and presentations that implement project-specific win strategies that clearly present Sundt's value propositions. The proposal manager will use their expertise to craft pursuit-specific win strategies and serve as subject matter experts, providing leadership to proposal specialists. This person will be a skilled manager with proven leadership ability and significant industry experience.

Key Responsibilities

1. Leads collaboration with internal and external pursuit team members to develop and implement winning strategies tailored to each opportunity.
2. Assumes overall responsibility for individual pursuit-related deliverables such as prequalification materials, SOQ/proposals, and presentation materials, including the assignment of specific tasks to other pursuit team members and follow-up to ensure completion.
3. Leads proposal kick-off meetings and document review sessions with a focus on implementation of the win strategy.
4. Reviews RFx documents and develops understanding of the requirements.
5. Leads proposal development activities using Sundt's standardized tools and processes, including schedules, compliance matrices, and content plans.
6. Coordinates pursuit-related deliverables (i.e., prequalification materials, Statements of Qualifications (SOQ)/proposals, and presentation materials), with responsibility to write or develop key sections.
7. Interviews subject matter experts to obtain information for proposals and SOQs.
8. Develops content for key sections, including written responses and identification of appropriate graphics.
9. Leads the quality control process for each deliverable, including reviewing all content prior to incorporation to ensure that it meets both the client's requirements and Sundt's standards, and performing research or information-gathering as required to resolve issues.
10. Maintains and reinforces standards set forth in Sundt's Brand Guidelines, Style Guide, Pursuit Process Guidelines, etc.
11. Mentors proposal specialists, coordinators, and other team members, offering guidance on best practices.
12. Participates in the ongoing maintenance of Sundt's CRM database, Unanet CRM by Cosential, including data collection and validation.

Minimum Job Requirements

1. 10+ years of marketing/proposal experience in A/E/C industry.
2. Additional professional or technical certifications.
3. Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly lnDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator; Cosential (or other CRM database); and Microsoft Office Suite programs.
4. Bachelor of marketing, English, communications, journalism, or similar; advanced degree preferred.
5. Must be a skilled writer and able to effectively communicate highly technical concepts, terms and processes to varying audiences.
6. Must have demonstrated ability to independently manage multiple concurrent projects and appropriately prioritize tasks.
