Job Summary
Knowledgeable and proficient in all duties performed by Payroll Clerk II and Ill. The Payroll Lead is responsible for overseeing and coordinating payroll operations within their assigned region. The role supervises a team of 2 payroll clerks and serves as the subject matter expert and primary point of escalation for regional payroll activities. The Payroll Lead assists the Payroll Supervisor with daily operations of the department and may be responsible for management of the payroll department in Payroll Supervisors' absence.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Communicates with jobsite personnel to identify and reduce errors with time entry.
2. Conduct regular one-on-one check-ins and training sessions for direct reports.
3. Directly supervise, coach, and evaluate a team of 2 regional payroll staff responsible for weekly full cycle end-to-end payroll. Assign workloads, set priorities, and ensure adequate staffing coverage to meet all payroll deadlines.
4. Identify inefficiencies in current workflows and recommend process improvements to increase accuracy, speed, and scalability.
5. May interact with company's Contract Compliance Manager to ensure practices align with applicable laws and regulations, contractual obligations and prevailing wage requirements.
6. Oversee compliance with certified payroll reporting and processing and prepare certified payroll internal rate sheets and table creations in JOE Edwards Enterprise One.
7. Oversee end-to-end payroll processing for assigned region, including final review prior to payroll submission.
8. Perform review of payroll maintenance tickets to ensure business needs are being addressed timely and accurately.
9. Perform tasks of Payroll Clerk II and Ill on an as needed basis.
10. Post and reviews payroll journal entries to check for completeness.
Minimum Job Requirements:
1. Capable of high-volume output and overtime on a needed basis.
2. Excellent data entry skills, telephone communication and organizational skills required.
3. High school diploma or equivalent.
4. Must be detail oriented and have decision making capabilities and leadership qualities.
5. Preferred 3-5 years of end-to-end payroll processing, with some supervisory experience.
6. Preferred experience with JD Edwards EnterpriseOne and Oracle HCM.
7. Preferred experience with LCPtacker, eMArs, AASHTOWare of similar CPR software.
8. Proficient use of all Microsoft Office Suite programs. Intermediate Excel skills due to using pivot tables, vlookups, xlookups, and conditional formatting.

6. Will sit, stand or walk short distances for up to the entire duration of a shift/workday.
7. Will use telephone, computer system, email, and other electronic devices on a frequent basis to communicate with internal and external customers or vendors
