The Opportunity
SHADE Industries is seeking a skilled, dependable Welder and Fabricator to join our specialized metal fabrication operations serving the Phoenix and Tucson areas. Working as a core member of a focused two-person fabrication team, you will fabricate, cut, drill, assemble, and weld custom architectural shade structures and metal components to exact technical specifications.

Key Responsibilities
- Precision Metal Fabrication: Cut, drill, fit, layout, and manufacture custom metal parts following blueprints, technical drawings, and precise tolerance specifications.
- Quality Welding Execution: Produce and inspect strong, clean MIG welds for durability, structural integrity, and specification compliance.
- Equipment and Fleet Operation: Safely operate hand tools, shop machinery, light to medium-duty company vehicles, utility trailers, and heavy equipment.
- Material Handling and Logistics: Load and unload steel inventory, transport fabrication materials to local vendors, and support regional project deliveries.
- Workspace Stewardship: Maintain a safe, highly organized, and clean shop work environment while adhering strictly to jobsite safety standards.
What You Need to Succeed (Qualifications)
- Required
- Trade Experience: Prior professional welding and metal fabrication experience required.
- Technical Fabrication Skills: Proficiency in reading blueprints, interpreting welding symbols, MIG welding, metal cutting, grinding, and surface finishing.
- Physical Endurance: Ability to stand for long periods, crouch, bend, and lift heavy steel materials throughout the shift.
- Logistics Infrastructure: Valid state driver license, clean insurable driving record, and reliable personal transportation.
- Fleet Capabilities: Ability to operate light to medium-duty company trucks with utility trailers and pass a DOT physical examination.
- Professional Demeanor: Energetic, dependable self-starter with a strong work ethic, flexible schedule availability, and a collaborative team orientation.

- Industry Background: Certified welder credentialing with permit experience and a background in commercial shade or construction metal fabrication preferred.
