The Commissioning Supervisor provides leadership and oversight for commissioning execution across complex customer projects, ensuring safe, high-quality, and contract-compliant delivery. This role is responsible for planning, execution and overseeing the commissioning of electrical systems for modular data power centers. The Cx Supervisor serves as a senior technical and customer-facing authority to drive successful project outcomes aligned with Schneider Electric standards.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare commissioning reports, test records, create observations, and turnover packages.
- Ensure proper documentation of all engineering changes, test results, and as built conditions.
- Supervise commissioning engineers, technicians, and subcontractors.
- Facilitate technical meetings and coordinate with QA/QC, engineering, and operations teams.
- Perform functional testing, system verification, and troubleshooting for electrical equipment including switchgear, UPS, PLC, transformers, protection relays, and power distribution systems.
- Validate single line diagrams, control schematics, and other project documentation.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards (NEC, NETA, NICET, UL) and site-specific safety rules.
- Supervise and lead commissioning activities across multiple complex projects, ensuring systems are installed, tested, and delivered in accordance with contractual scope, schedule, quality, and Schneider Electric standards.
- Define and execute commissioning strategies and execution plans, ensuring consistency, standardization, and adherence to approved methodologies and best practices.
- Oversee technical reviews of customer drawings, specifications, and contractual requirements to ensure commissioning readiness.
- Monitor, control, and report commissioning progress using project tracking tools; proactively identify risks, resource constraints, or schedule impacts and implement corrective actions.
- Identify, assess, and manage project Risks & Opportunities related to commissioning deliverables, including timely mitigation and escalation.
- Govern the Variation Order & Claim process for commissioning scope deviations with customers and vendors, in collaboration with the Project Manager
- Act as the primary escalation point for technical, schedule, or stakeholder conflicts during installation and commissioning phases
- Drive strong customer relationships through proactive communication and regular status reporting
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers, internal teams, and external stakeholders to ensure seamless coordination
- Capture lessons learned and contribute to continuous improvement of commissioning processes, tools, and standards

- Strong people leadership and supervisory skills, with experience managing and developing technical commissioning or engineering teams.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects, including schedules, risks, change control, and resource planning.
- Demonstrated capability to make proactive, high-impact decisions in complex and high-pressure environments.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, including executive-level engagement.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset.
- High attention to detail with the ability to review, interpret, and govern complex technical and contractual documentation.
Qualifications- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical or related Engineering field.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in electrical commissioning, startups, or related field.
- Heavily experienced in troubleshooting switchgear and UPS electrical systems.
- Experience commissioning low and medium power systems.
- Proven history working on industrial plants or data centers.
- Strong understanding of electrical protection, automation, power distribution, and control systems.
- Previous work experience as a senior automation/control commissioning engineer and managing a large team of engineers is preferable.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or working toward licensure (preferred).
- Industry certifications such as UL, NETA, NICET, or NFPA 70E (preferred).
- PMP or equivalent project management certification (preferred).
- Prior experience supervising commissioning teams and working as a senior controls/automation commissioning engineer.
- Experience with PLC and SCADA systems; familiarity with Schneider Electric platforms (Modicon, EcoStruxure, Citect) is a plus.
- Familiarity with Smartsheet, Microsoft Project, or similar project management tools
