PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Uses predetermined methods, operations, setups, and prescribed specifications to visually inspect in-process and completed products.
• Uses various measuring devices and conducts surface plate dimensional inspections.
• Accepts, rejects, or supports rework of defective or malfunctioning units or systems.
• Works from blueprints, diagrams, scales, fixtures, customer specifications, drawings or inspection instructions and checklists
• With this information and skill set the individual will complete first article documentation in accordance with AS9102 & customer requirements
• Perform maintenance, repair, calibration, and preventive maintenance of test, measurement, and inspection instruments.
• Resolve calibration issues with accuracy of measurement and compliance with specifications.
• Review and compile necessary TDP (Technical Data Packages) in accordance with AISC, ASME, NAVSEA, AS9102 code and customer requirements.
• Generate, populate, and maintain filling of TDPs’ in determined electronic structure.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Visual inspections of product lines
• Data collection and metric creation
• Calibration support
• Inspection Plan creation in Discus
• Maintain accurate records of calibrations and product changes
• Inspect, perform, and document calibrations according to company policies and procedures
• Keep equipment operating within specified ranges according to manufacturer’s specifications
• Assure that equipment is calibrated and maintained according to ISO, government, and safety regulations
• Perform preventive maintenance and service of equipment
• PPAP Technical Data Packages

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Prior Tech writing experience in a Manufacturing environment preferred but not required
• Proven ability to quickly learn and understand complex topics
• Previous experience writing documentation and procedural materials for multiple audiences
• Superior written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail
• 2+ years’ experience in creating and submitting AS9102 FAIR to customers
• Competency in surface plate inspections and metrology
• Extensive knowledge of GD& T as well as aerospace specifications
• Motivation and focus on assigned tasks
• Must be able to pass an ITAR-grade background check and be a US Citizen or Permanent resident

Preferred Qualifications

• 2 years minimum directly related experience working with aerospace technical data packages and PPAPs
• 2 or 4-year technical degree from an technical college
• Exposure to ASME/AISC manufacturing environment and familiarity with applicable code(s)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to walk or stand for long periods, lift to 50 pounds, stoop, climb, and use ladders to perform various inspection tasks and studies
• Handling and moving objects- Using hands and arms in handling, positioning, and moving materials
• Must be able to stand, squat, bend, crawl, reach

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Manufacturing environment.: May be exposed to loud noises, changing temperatures, machinery with moving parts, and exotic materials.
