Phoenix Zoo | Arizona Center for Nature Conservation is hiring a Senior Maintenance Technician - Welder in Phoenix, AZ. This is a full-time position.
Job Title: Senior Maintenance Technician Welder Department: Facilities Supervisor: Facilities Maintenance Manager Supervises: None FLSA Status: Full Time, Regular, Non-Exempt Pay: $30.25 General Statement: Under direct supervision of the Facilities Maintenance Manager, the Welder performs skilled work involving welding, brazing, soldering, cutting, sawing, and fabricating new designs. Essential Duties: 1. Provides quality guest service to both internal and external guests by maintaining a WILD (friendly, helpful, positive and professional) working attitude and appearance. 2. Fabricates, repairs and maintains steel/iron gates, fences, caging, and various other structures throughout the Zoo. 3. Provides routine scheduled maintenance and follows preventative maintenance schedules, including weekly maintenance on the carousel. 4. Assists with installation and repair of other types of equipment and fixtures. 5. Interprets schematic drawings, charts and technical instructions. 6. Monitors condition of equipment and systems. 7. Assists with fabrication of new exhibits and/or prototypes. 8. Provides scheduled and emergency after-hour maintenance or repair. 9. Performs other trades as needed (electrical, plumbing, carpentry, etc.) 10. Documents work performed on work orders. 11. Maintains work area cleanliness. 12. Ensures the safety of all guests (external and internal) at all times, including in case of Zoo-related emergency 13. Works collaboratively with colleagues and supervisors to support ACNCs Core Values and mission statement. 14. Performs any other duties and projects as fits the needs of the ACNC's business strategy.
