Position Summary:

Penn Foster’s Accounting team delivers high quality financial reporting and decision-making support across the organization. We are seeking a seasoned Manager, Revenue Cycle Management, to lead our revenue accounting operations. This role will be instrumental in ensuring accurate and timely billing, revenue recognition, and cash collections, while minimizing the write-offs of accounts receivable. The successful candidate will also lead the migration of B2B learner’s platform to a new system, re-engineering the entire process to enhance data integrity and efficiency.

Reporting to the Controller, this role requires strong analytical skills, deep knowledge of accounting principles, and a proven track record of driving operational excellence in revenue accounting. Experience with tuition billing, cross-functional collaboration, and a forward-thinking approach to technology integration are essential.

Essential Job Functions:

Revenue Cycle Management

  • Lead the complete revenue cycle from invoicing, collections to revenue recognition and cash application for B2B clients
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, ASC606, and internal revenue recognition policies
  • Minimize write offs through accurate billing, proactive credit management, dispute resolution and customer follow-up

System Migration & Optimization

  • Lead migration of B2B clients to a new platform
  • Collaborate with IT and B2B Sales teams to ensure process alignment and system configuration support business needs

Leadership & Reporting

  • Hire, mentor and lead a high-performing Revenue Cycle Management team across remote environments
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures and internal controls across the revenue cycle
  • Drive accountability for timely invoicing, payment applications, and aging analysis
  • Support month-end and year-end close and annual audit activities related to revenue and AR
  • Contribute to special projects, including system upgrades and policy updates
  • Leverage AI and other robotic process automation tools to streamline processes and enhance productivity

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting; CPA preferred
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in accounting, or revenue cycle management accounting, with 2+ years in a leadership role managing both exempt and non-exempt staff in a remote setting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power BI
  • Familiarity with Dynamics 365, NetSuite, customer billing platforms preferred
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, ASC 606 and internal controls
  • Demonstrated success in leading process improvements and cross-functional initiatives
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence stakeholders
  • Experience in a PE-backed or multi-entity environment is a strong plus
