DESCRIPTION Join Michael Baker International's Phoenix Office as a Survey Department Manager! The GIT Department Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of our Survey/GIT Department. This will include managing multiple survey crews and office staff to ensure that scope, schedule and budget for the projects is upheld while maintaining the quality of deliverable upon which Michael Baker has built its reputation. This position includes business development responsibilities related to survey and mapping opportunities to support both other departments within Michael Baker, as well current and prospective clients.
- A portion of your day would be spent ensuring projects are being delivered according to the agreed scope, schedule and budget. This will include coordination with our Field Survey and Mapping staff to ensure policies and procedures are being followed and addressing any departmental needs. It will also include assistance regarding staff scheduling and resource planning
- You will coordinate with our clients to ensure we are meeting expectations as well as developing new leads and opportunities from our clients. This would include attending client meetings and conducting thorough Quality Control reviews/audits
- Time will be spent making sure we are achieving the growth goals for the Survey Group as well as continually evolving the strategy to expand in terms of both services and staffing
PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS - Bachelor's Degree in Surveying preferred
- Minimum of 15 years of survey related experience with increasing levels of responsibility is required
- Professional Surveyors Registration (PLS) in Arizona required
- Be outgoing and organized, as well as possess strong project management and operational management skills
- Ability to network and build relationships with current and prospective clients is required
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential to success in this role
- Experience in boundary analysis, computations of ALTA and topography surveys as well as perform quality control of survey plans, record plats, descriptions, and review of title commitments is required
- Proven leader of a diverse survey department as well as possess the ability to develop and implement a strategic plan for growth and geographical expansion of the team is required
- Strong multi-tasking and ability to ensure issues are resolved in a timely manner is required
- Ability to provide guidance and mentoring to staff in the growing survey practice is required
COMPENSATIONThe approximate compensation range for this position $100, 942.440 - $174.865.60 per year. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
