As a Medical Receptionist, you are crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of our clinic, managing administrative tasks, and providing exceptional support to both patients and medical staff. Job Duties and Responsibilities Patient Scheduling: Manages and optimizes appointment schedules, ensuring efficient patient flow and minimizing wait times.Electronic Health Records (EHR): Accurately enters, updates, and maintains patient information within the EHR system, safeguarding data integrity.HIPAA Compliance: Upholds strict confidentiality and adheres to all HIPAA regulations, protecting patient privacy at all times.Insurance Verification: Verifies patient insurance coverage and eligibility, accurately communicating benefits and requirements.Customer Service: Provides compassionate and professional service, addresses patient inquiries, and resolves concerns promptly and effectively.Medical Terminology: Understands and correctly uses medical terminology when communicating with patients and staff, ensuring clear and accurate information exchange.Data Entry: Performs precise data entry for patient demographics, medical history, and billing information.Telephone Etiquette: Handles incoming calls with professionalism, directs inquiries appropriately, and manages messages efficiently.Payment Processing: Collects co-pays, deductibles, and outstanding balances, accurately processing payments and providing receipts.Patient Registration: Guides new and returning patients through the registration process, gathering necessary demographic and medical information. Required Qualifications Education Possesses a high school diploma or equivalent. Experience Demonstrates proven experience in a medical office or customer service environment.Navigates fast-paced work environments effectively. Knowledge/Skills Applies strong Patient Scheduling techniques to manage complex calendars.Operates Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems with proficiency.Maintains a comprehensive understanding of HIPAA Compliance standards.Executes thorough Insurance Verification processes.Delivers outstanding Customer Service with empathy and efficiency.Utilizes accurate Medical Terminology in all communications.Performs Data Entry with high levels of accuracy and speed.Exhibits excellent Telephone Etiquette and communication skills.Manages Payment Processing securely and precisely.Completes detailed Patient Registration procedures.Possesses strong organizational and multitasking abilities.Communicates clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing. Preferred Qualifications Holds an Associate's degree or certification in Medical Administration.Has experience with specific EHR software (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth).Is bilingual in English and [Specify relevant second language, e.g., Spanish].
