In this role, you will be responsible for leading the planning and execution of youth programs and family events, ensuring exceptional member experiences. Supporting the Youth & Lifestyle Activities Manager, the Supervisor helps coordinate diverse lifestyle programs, oversees team members, and contributes to strategic planning. This role emphasizes creativity, operational excellence, and cross-departmental collaboration to enhance the Sonoran Clubhouse and advance the Club’s mission.

The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in event planning, recreational programming, or club/resort operations, preferably within a private club or similar environment. They should also have 1–3 years of experience working with children and proven success in managing youth programs, sports leagues, or social events. A minimum of 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role is required, along with strong team management, organizational, and multitasking skills. The candidate must be able to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced setting and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, is also essential. Must have a valid Drivers License.

JOB DETAILS

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the daily operations of the Youth and Lifestyle Activities department with a hands-on approach. Supervise a team of approximately 6 Youth Activities
  • Lead and supervise Recreation Attendants, Lifestyle Activities Coordinators, and part-time event staff, while supporting their training and ongoing development.
  • In collaboration with the Manager, create and implement innovative, engaging events for all ages including kids’ nights, seasonal celebrations, and social leagues such as Bocce, Croquet, and Cornhole.
  • Assist the Manager in developing and enforcing department policies, procedures, and staff scheduling.
  • Serve as Manager-on-Duty in the absence of the Youth & Lifestyle Activities Manager.
  • Plan, oversee, and execute diverse youth and lifestyle programming by developing age-appropriate entertainment and utilizing creativity to deliver exceptional experiences for all participants.
  • Coordinate all aspects of events and programs, including logistics, staffing, materials, vendor contracts, and day-of operations.
  • Responsible for coordination, execution, billing, and follow-up of each event.
  • Analyze participation data and performance metrics to support strategic planning and reporting.
  • Manage inventory, purchasing, and maintenance of recreational and event supplies.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety standards, risk management protocols, and Club policies to maintain a safe and well-regulated environment.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications team to develop email newsletters, flyers, and promotional campaigns that effectively promote upcoming events.
  • Work closely with the Food & Beverage, Facilities, and Desert Mountain teams to ensure successful coordination of resources and logistics.
  • Communicate with members about concerns or suggestions related to youth related events ensuring timely, professional, and thoughtful follow-up.
  • Serve as a member liaison for all new programs, member offerings, and seminars. Ensure timely follow up and thorough explanation to the membership for all new activity offerings.
  • Enhance youth social values and life skills by serving as a positive role model and using arts & crafts, games, and other engaging activities to create a fun, safe, and supportive environment.
  • Maintain a strong presence at events to oversee successful execution and ensure high levels of member satisfaction.
  • Represent the Youth & Lifestyle department in staff meetings and actively contribute to broader Club initiatives.
  • Continuously monitor and “walk the member experience” to ensure Sonoran is viewed as a world-class facility; Monitor cleanliness, readiness, and presentation of activity spaces, perform facility walkthroughs and proactively address any operational or aesthetic issues.
  • Assist all departments within Sonoran, as needed. Serve as an active team member within all departments of Sonoran, understanding how each department operates to help during peak times of business.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
