Desert Mountain Club is home to seven signature golf courses, including six designed by Jack Nicklaus and a unique par-54 championship course, making it one of the most prestigious golf destinations in the country.

In this role, you will be responsible for directly supporting the Head Golf Professional in facilitating all aspects of the golf operation with emphasis on ensuring each member and guest has an exceptional service experience. The Assistant Head Professional manages all hourly staff - including the Outside Services Supervisor, Assistant Golf Professionals, Outside Services Professionals, Player Assistants and Range Ambassador(s) - and consistently disseminates key operational information to each group. This pro-active position is highly adaptable and promotes a culture of positivity and professionalism consistent with those values championed within the Desert Mountain community.

The ideal candidate will possess great energy, a tremendous sense for teamwork, and a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences. Class A PGA member in good standing is required, along with a minimum of 1 year prior experience as an Assistant Golf Professional. Candidates must have prior experience working within a PGA-accredited golf operation. Familiarity with ForeTees, Golf Genius, and Total E (Point-of-Sale) is preferred.

Must have a valid driver’s license with no traffic violations within the last 3 years.

JOB DETAILS

Responsibilities:

• Support the Head Golf Professional in facilitating all aspects of golf operations while managing a team of 10-20 teammates; Responsible for leading the operation in absence of the Head Professional.
• Assist members and guests with pre-golf check-in, tee time reservations, special orders and the communication of information relating to Club activities; Ensure all needs are met.
• Communicate regularly with the Head Golf Professional and sustain an active working relationship with Departmental Leaders both within and outside of the golf operation.
• Maintain familiarity with current and upcoming events/activities around the Club; Disseminate key operational information to all hourly golf teammates.
• Coach, counsel and train teammates; Work with the Head Golf Professional to promote a cohesive team environment that ensures we are providing exceptional member and guest experiences.
• Assist with the successful execution of Club tournaments/events.
• Prepare the weekly work schedule.
• Monitor daily retail and green fee sales; Analyze and organize all golf shop receipts.
• Assist with quarterly inventory and obtaining budgeted sales goals.
• Oversee the golf car fleet and PING rental set program.
• Manage pace of play and maintain knowledge of the PACE GPS system.
• Verify the daily staging of carts and practice facility setup(s) are presented in a manner consistent with individual course requirements.
• Ensure DMC Standards and Policies, Mission and Core Values are being upheld.
• Attend mandatory golf meetings.
• Other duties as assigned by the Head Golf Professional.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:

• Required to work in an outdoor working environment – Regularly
• Exposed to extreme temperatures and inclement weather (from 20 to 110 degrees) – Regularly
• Required to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Typical schedule – Sunrise to late afternoon, 5+ days per week.
• Required to stand for long periods of time.
• Required to lift, carry, push and/or pull up to 50 pounds – Frequently
