Student Worker - Campus Safety Intern (VOL)

General Job Brief: The Campus Safety Intern plays a vital role in fostering a safe and secure environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors at Arizona Christian University. As a uniformed presence on campus, the intern promotes lawful behavior, deters misconduct, and ensures the overall welfare of the campus community through proactive safety measures and effective communication. This role also requires a comprehensive understanding of and commitment to the unique Christian mission and vision of ACU to Transform Culture with Truth, and the ability to advance that mission and vision through the performance of its duties, including person-to-person mentorship and discipleship. Key Responsibilities: Maintain a visible and professional presence on campus to promote safety and deter suspicious or unlawful activity.Monitor and inspect campus buildings to ensure physical security, including routine checks to confirm doors and access points are secured.Assist with day-to-day administrative tasks and assignments as directed by campus safety leadership.Support traffic control operations to maintain order and safety on campus roadways and parking areas.Observe and promptly report any suspicious behavior, safety hazards, or policy violations to the appropriate personnel.Accurately document incidents and observations through clear, concise report writing.Collaborate with Campus Safety staff to support special events, emergencies, and other operational needs. Qualifications: Enrollment at Arizona Christian University as a current student in good academic standing.Strong sense of professionalism, responsibility, and integrity.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and special events.Ability to remain calm and act decisively in high-pressure or emergency situations. Preferred Skills: Prior experience in security, safety, or a related field is a plus.Familiarity with campus safety policies and procedures.Basic proficiency in administrative tasks and report writing.
