Overview

We are seeking a full-time Aviation Program Specialist 2 in our Scottsdale, AZ location. In this role, you will be responsible for providing technical customer service/support related to transport category aircraft performance and weight & balance activities and serves as main point of contact for customers as well as manage customer aircraft configurations, advanced aircraft performance questions, change requests, and aircraft weight & balances changes.

Essential Functions
  • Escalate customer needs as required, directing inquiries to proper departments
  • Serve as first-level customer contact, receiving and answering moderately complex to complex questions, inquiries and requests pertaining to Garmin's aircraft performance products
  • Demonstrate program management skills on programs and projects to ensure communications, scope, effort, milestones/schedule, risk management, and strategy are aligned with Garmin's initiatives, business model, and customer relationships with guidance
  • Resolve, track and/or route moderately complex to complex customer issues or requests
  • Demonstrate proficiency in delivering technical support for Garmin aircraft performance and/or load planning products
  • May lead testing and deployment of Garmin products and solutions
  • Contribute to technical writing and publication of aircraft performance data materials
  • Contribute to and enhance development of customer training materials
  • Lead project management functions
  • Investigate and determine root cause of operational events and failures
  • Identify issues with aircraft performance and/or load planning and support development of corrective actions
  • May negotiate requirements with customer and documents/disseminates for internal stakeholders
  • May act as primary coordinator for internal resources to support customer executive review
  • Assist in coordinating internal resources to support customer needs for respective deliverables
  • Lead recurring meetings with customer, documents, and maintains related documentation in an organized manner
  • Create/communicate status information to inform internal stakeholders of relevant program progress and issues
  • Analyze program requirements and work with internal stakeholders to establish effort estimates
  • Communicate status of work clearly providing visibility to supervisor or mentor
  • Work collaboratively, efficiently, and professionally in a team environment with other Garmin associates to achieve goals
  • Apply a sense of urgency, commitment and prioritization in developing timely solutions
  • May have primary responsibility for driving creation and maintenance of program-specific Statement of Works (SOWs) or technical proposals
  • Apply Garmin's Mission, Vision, Values and Quality Policy and enthusiastically exhibits a desire to see Garmin succeed
  • Perform on-call duty and after hours on-call coverage may be required
  • Support special projects as assigned
  • Ability to travel for customer support and training
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace, Business or related field OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of 1 year of relative industry experience
  • Excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule) with the demonstrated ability to apply learned knowledge
  • Operational knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) governing aircraft operations with 14 CFR Part 121 or Part 135 experience preferred
  • Demonstrates advanced troubleshooting skills
  • Driven problem solver with proven success in solving difficult problems.
  • Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well with others
Desired Qualifications
  • Private Pilot's License
  • Previous work experience in Airline or Charter Operations, Air Traffic Control, Flight Dispatching, Load Planning, Flight/Ramp Operations, or Aviation Program/Project Management
