The Opportunity

Our diverse Services business provides 24/7 servicing for: hospitals, utilities, data centers, support for the resources sector and just about everything in-between. Our Schneider Electric portfolio covers UPS, critical cooling equipment, LV/MV switchgear, transformers, substation monitoring as well as a wide range of ancillary equipment. We enable owners, end users and custodians to minimise breakdowns, increase reliability, efficiency and safety while reducing costs and simplifying operations.

The Services team are currently seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to be based in Auckland (New Zealand). Responsible for the New Zealand market, you will utilise your proven skills and experience as you manage existing Customers across our Services portfolio, taking a long-term view to support ongoing growth across markets that are full of opportunity.

We are focused on Consulting, Modernisation and the growth of recurring Contracts as we continue to experience an exciting period of growth. Closely collaborating with various local stakeholders, other specialist functions and backed by the support of our Leadership teams, you will get the opportunity to make an Impact with the team at Schneider Electric.

This exciting new career opportunity will see you:

  • Focus on the New Zealand market in maximising orders, profitability and Customer satisfaction within your territory and assigned accounts for a broad range of technical products and services
  • Developing and maintaining key relationships, especially those on a local level and across the wider organisation as you collaborate to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes
  • Taking a consultative approach as you utilise your knowledge, skills and experience to proactively address Customer needs and identify new business opportunities
  • Developing and executing an Annual Sales Plan and provide ongoing Account Management
  • Leveraging your background to educate Customers on products, and services, including recurring and digital offers
  • Providing key information to our teams in preparation of sales quotations and bid proposals
  • Focusing on sales/pipeline forecasts and account planning in line with key reporting milestones
  • Travel as required, primarily within New Zealand


Our ideal candidate will possess:

  • Proven Technical Sales background coupled with experience in a similar position (Account Manager or Business Development Manager), ideally within related Electrical markets
  • A consultative style, experience selling to a diverse range of Customers and previous success in exceeding related targets/objectives
  • True growth mindset, proven in nurturing close relationships and the desire to make an Impact
  • A digital mindset with proven skills in MS Office and previous experience in utilising a CRM
  • Those with knowledge of Schneider Electric Offers, an Electrical Trade or Engineering background will be viewed favourably
