Role Overview

Rooftop at QT is where sky high views meet high energy hospitality, perched atop QT Auckland in a design led space known for creative cocktails, bold flavours, panoramic harbour views, and a playful, elevated service style that draws locals, travellers, and late night explorers alike.

We are searching for an Assistant Venue Manager to help lead this buzzing venue, working closely with the Venue Manager to support all aspects of the operation - from team leadership and guest experience to financial performance, training, cost control, and maintaining the polished, personality driven standards that define Rooftop at QT. Key Responsibilities

• Support the Venue Manager in daily operations, ensuring Rooftop at QT delivers consistently exceptional service, product quality, and guest experience.
• Lead, train, roster, and motivate Front of House staff, maintaining a strong team culture and world class standards.
• Monitor wage and beverage costs, assist with budgeting and financial reporting, and track rostered vs actual labour daily.
• Collaborate with F& B, Sales, Marketing, and Events teams to develop creative business opportunities, activations, and promotions.
• Ensure all SOPs, opening/closing procedures, and service checklists are followed and updated as needed.
• Maintain strong compliance across WHS, liquor licensing, sustainability, food safety, and venue presentation.

Who We’re Looking For

• A hospitality professional with a minimum of one year of hospitality management experience, ideally in a bar, rooftop, restaurant, or hotel environment.
• A confident leader who inspires their team, communicates clearly, and can build rapport with ease.
• Someone with strong operational ability—comfortable managing busy floor shifts, supporting staff, and maintaining high standards under pressure.
• Organised and efficient, with experience in rostering, stock control, and service systems (POS, Micros, Respak).
• A service focused operator committed to professionalism, excellent presentation, and QT’s playful, polished brand style.
• A proactive problem solver with a positive, can do attitude and a passion for delivering memorable guest experiences.
