As part of the
Energy Management - Innovation & Technology organization, our
Electronic Design Expert Team within CTO Europe drives innovation across all business lines. We bring together specialists in power electronics, PCB design, system modeling, and component technologies to support the development of advanced solutions.
Our mission is to guide designers in creating reliable, high-performance electronic circuits and boards through expertise in design, prototyping, and optimization-ensuring compliance, quality, and readiness for future challenges
Your role:
Join our innovation team to shape the future of electrical protection through cutting-edge semiconductor technologies. We focus on two breakthrough domains:
- Hybrid Technology, which combines mechanical and electronic components for optimized performance under demanding conditions.
- Solid-State Breaking, a disruptive approach that replaces traditional mechanical interruption with ultra-fast semiconductor switching. This technology enables instantaneous fault clearing, higher reliability, and seamless integration into smart electrical systems, paving the way for next-generation protection architectures.
Your missions:
Hybrid protection imposes unique constraints on semiconductors, distinct from conventional conversion applications.
You will:
- Interface with suppliers to optimize and qualify next generation components,
- Support component selection and sizing to optimize performance and cost.
- Develop simulation models and verify performance through prototyping.
- Adress layout and EMC constraints to ensure reliable semiconductors implementation into switching cells
- Support innovation and project teams with technical feedback and prototyping activities.
Power components designed for conversion do not meet protection requirements. New semiconductor technologies and packaging solutions are being explored.
You will:
- Monitor on going collaboration with semiconductor manufacturers
- Evaluate packaging concepts and integration feasibility.
- Design and test power electronic boards and benches tailored to solid-state devices.
- Characterize new semiconductors components and support prototype development
- Provide technical input and selection guidelines to innovation and project teams
Your profile:
- Master's or PhD in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- 5 years + experience in:
- Power electronics components
- Electronic design and driver circuits
- Test & measurement
- Simulation & modelling (Tools: Matlab, Symetrix, LT spice, Cadence)
Your skills:
- Fluent in English; French is highly appreciated.
- Team player, curious, and proactive
- Comfortable working in innovation and prototyping environments
- Additionnal nice to have:
- Knowledge of wide band gap semiconductors (SiC, GaN)
- Experience with supplier collaboration and component qualification
We know skills and competencies show up in many ways and can be based on your life experience. If you do not necessarily meet all the requirements that are listed, we still encourage you to apply.
