The salary range(s) represents our good faith estimate for the role at this time. Join our team as the Manager, Engineering Process Delivery!

The Manager, Engineering Process Delivery will be a key management position within the Engineering team, responsible for overseeing the delivery of high-quality process support across critical engineering activities. In this role, you will work closely with the Director, Engineering Services, and the broader Engineering management team to drive value-added business services, process excellence, and compliance across a range of areas, including project management, financial oversight, organizational readiness, and partner service delivery. You will lead a highly skilled team of professionals, guiding them to ensure customer-responsive, cost-efficient, and compliant services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Supervision: Manage and provide leadership for a team responsible for critical engineering internal controls, strategic process development, and project management.
  • Collaboration & Coordination: Work closely with internal stakeholders, including Compliance, IT, Legal, Process Integrity, Regulatory, and Operations teams, to identify risk mitigation strategies and ensure compliance with regulatory standards, business controls, and quality efforts.
  • Process Improvement: Drive the continuous improvement of engineering processes through strategic planning and execution of high-value programs and activities.
  • Team Development & Performance Management: Lead the recruitment, development, and retention of a professional, diverse, and qualified staff. Manage individual performance through coaching, goal-setting, and performance reviews.
  • Resource Capacity Planning: Lead resource capacity planning across Engineering teams to ensure the effective and efficient performance of activities and projects.
  • Compliance & Quality Control: Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards. Oversee the implementation of quality control activities within Engineering to foster continuous improvement.
  • Project Oversight: Oversee and manage multi-group engineering projects, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently and project deliverables are met.
  • Communication & Stakeholder Management: Serve as a spokesperson for the Engineering department, ensuring clear communication of activities, objectives, and performance to stakeholders, including the Board, Members, Staff, and Regulators.
  • Relationship Building: Build and maintain collaborative relationships with external partners and organizations in SPP’s areas of interest. Represent SPP as needed in communications with these parties.
  • Business Support & Administration: Manage the provision of business support for the Engineering department, including contract administration, study cost tracking, project tracking, budget facilitation, and customer service.

To be successful we're looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, Finance or other related degree (additional related experience may be considered in lieu of degree requirement)
  • Eight (8) years of related work experience

Required:

  • Communication skills and directive ability to deal on a regular basis with management level personnel as well as with regulators
  • Expert decision making and problem solving skills
  • Ability to lead the execution of departmental strategies
  • A wide range of skills including: oral and written communications; staff supervision; project management; and strong inter-personal skill
  • Flexibility and the ability to function with diverse activities and multiple priorities
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Understanding of, compliance with and enforcement of SPP Policies and Procedures

Preferred:

  • Advanced degree in related field
  • Experience with compliance and internal control tools such as Confluence, Jira, or others
  • Project, program, and/or portfolio management experience
  • Experience in Transmission Planning
  • Supervisory experience

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

  • This is a full-time position. Days and hours of the workweek are Monday through Friday; 8: 00 a.m. to 5: 00 p.m. Working extended hours may be required.

Travel Requirement:

  • This position requires minimal travel (< 10%).
