Job Description

HFA Enterprises is hiring a Electrical Engineer III in Bentonville, AR. This is a full-time position.

The Electrical Designer III leads the design and delivery of electrical construction documents across a wide range of project types, applying advanced knowledge of the NEC, energy codes, lighting and power systems, and national standards with minimal engineering oversight. This role functions as a technical leader, providing quality control, mentorship, and client-facing support while developing complete designs-including one-line diagrams, calculations, specifications, and equipment selection-and ensuring projects are accurate, compliant, and financially successful.

Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Designer can work, in an independent manner, to deliver completed construction documents on most client and/or project types, as well as, provide a high level of service for all phases of design.
  • Designer can communicate effectively to be seen as highly knowledgeable and/or an expert when discussing design challenges or projects, both internally and externally.
  • Designer will utilize education and experience to independently develop, implement, and draft construction documents for any project and/or project type (or at least major portions), as well as, solve most design challenges that arise on a project.
  • Designer should be able to apply their knowledge of NEC and other national standards to all project types, with little to no oversight from Electrical Engineer.
  • Designer should have thorough understanding of energy codes and how to apply most sections to power and lighting design with minimal oversight.
  • Designer should have a good understanding of photometric calculations, lighting design, fault current calculations, 1-Line diagrams and be able to select lighting systems and controls on most project and client types.


Job Duties include but are not limited to:
  • Designer should serve as Electrical Design Lead or provide major quality control, training, or other technical functions for the company.
  • Designer should be proficient in AutoCAD and/or REVIT. Designer should be able to train new employees on company standards, drafting techniques, and answer basic questions on NEC and/or other national standards.
  • Designer will work in a collaborative environment with Architects and other Engineers to develop construction documents based on a clients' requirements, including performing project management functions, quality control, or other duties as necessary.
  • Designer should provide quality control on their own projects as well as others, with minimum oversight from Electrical Engineer or Electrical Design Lead.
  • Designer will have direct client contact, unless in a strictly technical role for the company.
  • Designer will establish project budgets, with approval of supervisor, and work with team to ensure those projects are financially successful, unless in a strictly technical role for the company.
  • Designer should provide 1-Line diagrams and provide fault current calculations on most project types.
  • Designer should be able to select and design lights, controls, and other equipment on most project types.
  • Designer should be able to write specifications for most project types.
