Description:

Position is contingent upon contract award

The Personal Property Processing/Shipping Office Specialist is responsible for coordinating the shipment, storage, and processing of personal property for military personnel, ensuring compliance with Department of Defense transportation regulations and customer service standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Process and coordinate shipment and storage of personal property
  • Prepare and validate required documentation (DD 1299, DD 1840R, etc.)
  • Utilize transportation systems such as DPS and GATES
  • Provide counseling to customers on shipment and storage procedures
  • Coordinate with transportation offices and external stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with DTR, JTR, and applicable regulations
  • Track shipments and resolve discrepancies or claims issues
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience within the last five (5) years in a transportation or personal property office
  • Experience in transportation, logistics coordination, or shipping operations
  • Experience in military or government logistics environments preferred
  • Experience counseling customers using DTR Part IV or JTR guidance


KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
  • Knowledge of transportation and personal property shipment processes
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
  • Customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities
