Life Enrichment Assistant (Memory Care) Part-Time Weekend Position Schedule: Every Other Saturday & Sunday, 9: 00 AM - 4: 00 PM Position Summary The Life Enrichment Assistant supports the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical well-being of residents in the Memory Care community. This position is responsible for implementing and facilitating the activity schedule developed by the Life Enrichment Director during their absence. The Life Enrichment Assistant actively encourages resident participation, promotes engagement, and helps create meaningful experiences that enhance residents' quality of life. Key Responsibilities Activity Program Implementation Follow and implement the activity schedule established by the Life Enrichment Director.Prepare activity supplies, materials, and designated activity spaces before each program.Lead and facilitate a variety of resident-centered activities, including: BingoArts and craftsTriviaGroup gamesMovie time with popcorn and refreshmentsSnack and beverage socialsMusic programs and sing-alongsHoliday and seasonal celebrationsOther recreational and enrichment activities as assigned Adapt activities as needed to accommodate residents' cognitive and physical abilities. Resident Engagement & Quality of Life Actively invite, encourage, and assist residents in attending scheduled programs.Escort residents to and from activities when needed.Foster meaningful interactions that promote socialization, independence, and a sense of purpose.Create a fun, engaging, and inclusive environment for all residents.Provide positive encouragement and redirection to support participation among residents living with dementia and memory loss.Help enhance residents' overall quality of life through purposeful and enjoyable engagement opportunities. Resident Support & Observation Monitor residents' comfort, safety, and participation during activities.Assist residents with seating, activity materials, and participation as needed.Observe and report changes in residents' mood, behavior, or engagement levels to the appropriate staff member. Refreshments & Event Support Prepare and distribute snacks, beverages, and popcorn during activities and social events.Assist with decorating, room setup, and cleanup for events and special occasions.Ensure activity areas remain clean, organized, and welcoming. Communication & Documentation Maintain attendance and participation records as directed.Communicate resident participation, preferences, and concerns to the Life Enrichment Director.Report safety concerns, incidents, or resident needs promptly and appropriately. Team Collaboration Work cooperatively with caregivers, nursing staff, and other team members to support resident well-being.Follow facility policies, procedures, and confidentiality guidelines.Perform other duties related to resident engagement and life enrichment as assigned. Qualifications Compassionate and patient attitude toward seniors, especially those living with dementia or memory impairment.Positive, energetic, and dependable work ethic.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to lead both small and large group activities.Ability to work independently while following an established activity schedule.Previous experience in senior living, recreation, activities, customer service, or healthcare is preferred but not required. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk throughout the community for extended periods.Ability to lift, carry, and transport activity supplies up to 25 pounds.Ability to assist residents to and from activities as needed.
