Description

The Community Support Professional (CSP) encourages community participation and facilitates the cultivation of friendships for individuals served. This role provides guidance on social judgment, health and safety, and daily living activities to support community integration. The CSP arranges transportation, maintains detailed documentation, and attends staff training and meetings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Encourage community participation and facilitate the cultivation of friendships for individuals served.
  • Provide guidance on social judgment, health and safety, and daily living activities to support community integration.
  • Arrange transportation to and from community outings.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of services rendered, reflecting progress, outcomes, and goals.
  • Attend staff training and meetings as scheduled.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership.


Requirements

  • High School Diploma required; Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of one year of technical or para-professional experience working with individuals with IDD, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Reliable transportation, valid Alabama driver's license, and ability to pass pre-employment screening.

  • Familiarity with documentation and reporting procedures.

Working Conditions

Frequent standing, walking, hand dexterity, reaching with hands and arms, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and speaking and listening.

Vision abilities, including close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception.

Occasional sitting.

Frequent lifting and/or moving of more than 100 pounds.
