Inc. is seeking a Chief Operating Officer (COO) to join our senior management team located at our corporate HQ in Cummings Research Park, Huntsville, AL.

This is not a teleworking position. Duty site is 615 Discovery Drive, Huntsville, Al 35806. Military experience is a plus.

Position Description:

The COO is a senior executive tasked withday-to-day administrative and operational functionsof a technical services defense contractor.

The COO w ill perform as a resourceful problem solver with strong leadership skills.

The COO focuses on executing the company's business plan, according to the established policies, procedures, strategy, ethics, business model, customer base, and growth expectations, and, works with the leadership team to materialize the growth strategy and Probability of Win of key procurements.

Works with the Quality Manager to identify and minimize operational risks, using key performance indicators within each operational function to project, identify, quantify, and mitigate risks, where effectiveness is measured by KPIs for operations; metrics for customer satisfaction, by waterfall projections for growth; by rate stability for budget controls, and by audit results from federal audit agencies.

Experience :

At least 20 years of total experience in defense contracting business operations leadership roles, along with 10 years of experience reporting to the President or CEO. As a SR VP of Operations or COO, with accountability for the day-to-day corporate business operations, 5 years of experience as COO of a defense services contractor with greater than 1000 employees.

Skills:
  • Must have demonstrated experience in: Finance, Accounting, HR, Recruiting, IT, Contracts, Purchasing, Publications, Facilities, and Business Development for business greater than 1000 employees.
  • Pricing and budget experience with strong analytical, managerial, communication and demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Strong HR experience across the range of job requirements, from writing work instructions for an HR task to building a pricing volume for a proposal to preparing and briefing executive leadership.
  • History of quality control through conducting business operations within ISO 9001/AS9100.

Education Required: A Master's degree.

Security Clearance Required: Have an active Top Secret Clearance, or, have the ability to obtain TS Clearance.
