Paint Prep

The Paint Technician is responsible for preparing and painting transformer units. Compliance with all safety requirements, product quality standards and company policies are essential functions of this role. · Review checklist and follow work order instructions to ensure compliance with specifications · Assess units prior to painting and check for issues (defects, leaks, etc.), escalate defect issues to lead or supervisor if discovered · Mix paint and ensure the viscosity is consistent with specifications · As needed replace paint in pots/drums · Ensure paint guns are all in working order and spray pattern consistency is correct prior to painting the equipment · If needed clean unit off accordingly by air or tack cloth · Apply primer and paint as required to comply with quality expectations · After primer and paint is complete look over unit to ensure quality expectations are met · If unit is dissembled spray unit parts as required · Once unit is complete move to final assembly · Following all safety protocols which includes wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), respirator, glove, safety glasses, etc. · Maintain safe, clean and orderly workstation and area. · Other duties assigned as needed.
