Objectives: The Kiln Instructor Coordinator is responsible for leading and coordinating the Control Room Operators to ensure safe, efficient, and consistent production of raw mix, solid fuel, clinker, and cement in line with environmental, quality, and volume targets. Additionally, the Kiln Instructor Coordinator will initiate and lead process optimization efforts across the cement plant to ensure effective resource utilization and operational performance.
Organization Structure: The Kiln Instructor Coordinator reports to the Production Manager.
Role & ResponsibilitiesEducation: Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Mining, Material, Industrial).
Qualifications: 3- 10 years of experience in the cement industry.
Nature and Scope: - Demonstrates a strong commitment to safety and actively promotes safe work practices through daily actions and decisions.
- Proactively identifies and addresses operational issues that impact the efficiency and effectiveness of the production process.
- Possesses solid technical knowledge in engineering, including:
- Fluid mechanics
- Heat transfer
- Refractories
- Combustion
- Crushing and grinding
- Material handling
- Has a strong understanding of the cement manufacturing process and/or experience in the mineral processing industry.
- Familiar with process automation and control systems.
- Demonstrates excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret operations data and propose effective solutions.
- Maintains an open-minded and team-oriented approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
- Communicates effectively in a multicultural work environment, both verbally and in writing.
- Encourages the implementation of innovative ideas and benchmark technologies to optimize plant performance and efficiency.
Specific Accountabilities: - Demonstrates a strong commitment to safety policies, ensuring they are communicated and applied to all operational areas.
- Provides leadership and ensures strong communication in team environments to meet production goals.
- Analyzes plant operations and recommend process improvements.
- Leads or support the implementation of new systems and technologies.
- Protects plant equipment by promoting operational discipline and maximizing reliability.
- Ensures alignment between Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and accepted control strategies/best practices.
- Conducts daily reviews and provides structured feedback to CROs regarding process control to foster continuous on-the-job learning.
- Monitors CRO development and performance, adjusting training plans as necessary.
- Initiates, plans, and delivers training for CROs via workshops, seminars, coaching sessions, and formal courses.
- Serves as a technical resource for internal training programs and evaluate their effectiveness.
- Collaborates with external training consultants to design and tailor course content to plant needs.
- Provides coverage for both the Production Manager and Production Coordinator as needed.
