Primarily responsible for identifying, developing, and implementing initiatives that promote membership growth and business opportunities through our Membership Partners (A Membership Partner is a business, organization, club or church that offers Redstone membership). Cultivates relationships with our Membership Partners in order to increase membership penetration and add long-term value. Facilitates the role of Redstone as a Trusted Advisor by recruiting strategic business partners. Serves as a resource to other employees on highly valuable strategic Membership Partner related initiatives. A Business Development Officer is distinguished from a Senior Business Development Officer in that employees in the later job handles the more complex business development initiatives.
Job Description
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Calls on and visits targeted businesses and actively participates in local programs with the Chambers of Commerce, schools, and the community in order to identify and generate leads for potential Membership Partners and business service partners.
- Promotes Credit Union benefits to businesses, schools, non-profits and other organizations to expand the Field of Membership and increase business relationships.
- Directs new Membership Partner enrollment processes; distributes product and service information; acts as primary contact between Membership Partners and the Credit Union.
- Serves as a point of contact between the National Credit Union Administration and Redstone on Field of Membership related topics.
- Researches, analyzes, and proposes strategies for acquiring new Membership Partners through the use of multiple communication channels.
- Assists with recruitment and promotion of Redstone Discounts Program as added value to RFCU membership and Redstone business partners.
- Provides technical guidance and assistance to staff; researches and resolves escalated issues and problems.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Required: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree in Marketing, Business Administration or closely related field or three years sales, marketing or public relations experience in lieu of degree
Required: Three years financial industry experience

- Use correct English including spelling, grammar and punctuation.
- Operate computers and use business software and other standard office equipment.
- Understand and follow written and oral instructions.
- Set priorities and manage one’s own time effectively.
