Position Summary:
The Reliability Engineering Lead manages electronics reliability, quality systems, electronics suppliers, product conformance, customer requirements, and ISO conformance. The individual in this role is responsible for ensuring all electronic products are designed and manufactured to withstand harsh environments for long-term warranty periods. They will be responsible for diagnosing complex product failures, conducting root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions to enhance product reliability. Their expertise will contribute significantly to our mission of delivering high-quality products that exceed customer expectations.
Objectives:
- Evaluate and analyze products, components, materials, and equipment for the purpose of understanding and predicting failures.
- Review product designs, material specifications, and manufacturing capability to predict reliability and dependability.
- Create prototypes and conduct product tests to gather reliability data.
- Maintain and continuously improve reliability lab testing capabilities.
- Interpret test results and recommend solutions using appropriate statistical distributions and reliability models.
- Document findings, including results of root cause analysis, and facilitate the implementation of necessary changes to ensure product reliability levels are maintained.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve issues impacting product performance.
- Lead a team supporting failure analysis and evaluations of customer returns ensuring daily prioritization, task management, and reporting of findings and trends.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field. Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering strongly preferred.
- 4 years+ of relevant experience
- Strong analytical skills with a proven ability to troubleshoot complex problems.
- Experience with failure analysis techniques such as FMEA, 8D, and root cause analysis methodologies.
- Proven ability to lead a team of Technicians and Engineers.
