About You We're looking for someone who has:
- A bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical discipline; master's degree preferred
- 15 years of relevant experience, including 10 years in a client-facing or managerial consultant role
- Professional licensure
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills, with the ability to deliver persuasive presentations
- Proven leadership experience in TSMO, traffic engineering, and related disciplines
- Demonstrated success in business development and client relationship management
- Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and develop strategic plans
- Willingness to travel as required
About the Role As a
Regional TSMO & Traffic Department Leader, you will:
- Lead the development and execution of Gresham Smith's TSMO and Traffic Engineering Mid-South Regional business plan, including recruitment, staff development, profitability, and project performance
- Oversee strategic planning by identifying market capabilities, investment needs, pursuit strategies, and teaming opportunities
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, generating new business with existing and prospective clients
- Lead all business development efforts, including proposal content coordination and necessary travel
- Collaborate with Regional Leader, State Leader, TSMO Service Line Leader, technical leads, market leadership, and other departments to ensure aligned, effective service delivery
- Serve as a trusted advisor on public and private projects, supporting strategic planning, marketing, proposals, and interviews
- Partner with market leadership to achieve sales, cost, profit, schedule, and quality goals
- Support the State integrated business plan and align it with the Firm's Strategic Plan and market business plans
- Use Gresham Smith's Way to Win (W2W) protocols for pursuit execution
- Initiate and deepen new and existing client relationships
- Author high-quality proposals, scopes, and fee structures to secure new projects
- Identify innovation opportunities in TSMO and traffic engineering
- Develop tactical plans for client acquisition, relationship growth, and client satisfaction monitoring
- Monitor market trends and forecast skills and capabilities to meet evolving client demands
- Mentor, coach, and develop staff to help them reach their full potential
- Provide leadership and supervision for the department's technical functions, workload, performance, and administration
- Ensure sufficient resources and solicit feedback for continuous improvement
- Promote effective communication and collaboration across all levels and with corporate management
