Boise Cascade Company is hiring!

Description:

Installs, troubleshoots, and repairs plant electrical equipment and systems. Performs duties with limited direct supervision. Works closely with other Electricians to perform complex assignments.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Reads and interprets basic wiring diagrams and troubleshoots basic relay logic
  2. Troubleshoots and repairs controls related to hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  3. Troubleshoots and repairs 120 volt control motor circuits
  4. Uses and interprets volt meters, ohm meters, amp meters, and meggers
  5. Demonstrates safe work habits and observes all safety rules and procedures including equipment lockout
  6. Demonstrates initiative and dependability in attendance and accomplishment of work assignments
  7. Demonstrates excellent housekeeping practices in electrical shop and throughout facility
  8. Performs other routine duties, such as operating manlifts and forklifts
  9. Consistently responds to calls in a timely manner, completes assignments with high quality in a timely manner and completes timesheets properly
  10. Consistently exhibits positive attitude, is supportive of Boise Cascade Company, sets a good example for other employees, and is a team player committed to making Boise Cascade successful
  11. Follows Company policies, procedures and safety rules

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  1. High school diploma or general education degree (GED); minimum one year of professional electrical maintenance experience; or satisfactory completion of an accredited comprehensive technical school electrical maintenance program
  2. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  3. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  4. Ability to effectively communicate preventative maintenance to supervisors and machine operators
  5. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  6. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent
  7. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
  8. Ability to comprehend and interpret basic mechanical prints and schematics of systems
  9. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations without supervision
