Engineer 2 (Distribution)

Position Overview BLOC Resources is seeking a motivated and technically capable Engineer 2 (Distribution) to support Southern Company's electric distribution operations from the Reform, Alabama office. This opportunity may be considered for either an entry-level engineer or an experienced Distribution Engineer, depending on the candidate's education, technical background, and relevant experience. Candidates with 5-10 years of distribution engineering experience should be prepared to independently support increasingly complex distribution design, analysis, project management, system reliability, and network optimization activities. The Distribution Engineer plays an important role in the design, development, analysis, maintenance, and improvement of electrical distribution systems. Responsibilities include designing and planning electrical distribution facilities, performing technical engineering analyses, supporting distribution projects, identifying system improvements, maintaining engineering documentation, and ensuring work complies with applicable safety and regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, a commitment to safety and quality, and the ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, field personnel, project managers, customers, and other stakeholders.
