What You'll Do: Responsible for managing daily activities and exceeding customer expectations by continuously improving all aspects of assigned supply chain services by managing the overall purchasing and inventory.
Key Responsibilities: - Selects optimal sources of supply and inventory levels.
- Negotiates prices and agreements, approves purchase orders, manages the day-to-day warehouse functions in support of the local operations.
- Manage all supplier-related activities and the authority to commit company resources through contracts and agreements.
- Ensure activities related to the acquisition of goods and services in support of company operations, supplier assessment and performance improvement process accurately and timely.
- Develops and executes integrated organizational plans, policies and procedures and guides the development of business and technical strategies, goals and objectives.
- Provide insight and recommendation on approaches to strategic business challenges related to all order lifecycle processes and supply chain management.
- Drives continuous improvement by leveraging new and creative approaches to program/project management, change management and technology.
- Develops and maintains relationships with both internal and external while providing oversight regarding negotiation strategies, processes and related tools.
- Collaborates closely with Operations, Dispatch, Terminal Managers, and Accounts Receivable.
- Manage branded fuel customer relationships and work in dealer systems to ensure accuracy.
Education & Credentials: Bachelor's degree in business, transportation or related field; or a combination of post-high school and equal experience may be substituted for education.
Experience: - 5 - 10 years of related experience, with union environment experience preferred.
Technical Skills: - Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word.
Competencies: Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal/external business partners. Ability to evaluate process effectiveness and develop change or alternatives. Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously. Ability to mentor, coach, train and supervise employees. Ability to prepare, monitor and administer budgets, as well as the ability to perform financial analysis. Ability to function effectively with, or as part of a team. Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions. Knowledge of purchasing, procurement, budgeting and administrative management. Knowledge of contract negotiation and administration as well as the ability to execute contracts in compliance with corporate guidelines.
Other: - Valid Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC) credential is required.
- Also, subject to a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check to obtain your driving history.
Working Conditions: Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature and the like. Extended use of a computer keyboard, viewing of a computer monitor and the ability to sit for long periods of time.
