A division of Harris, Cayenta's Client Services team has an exciting opportunity for driven individuals with Utility experience. We are looking for an Application Consultant who is passionate about providing timely solutions and empowering our clients. It is important for this individual to evolve into a conduit between Operations, R& D, and our clients, working cross-functionally to become a product expert and a client process advisor.

The Application Consultant role is project driven and will support a wide array of services for our Install Base customers.

This role is available remotely within Canada and the US. All time zones are welcome. This role requires up to 25% of travel between Canada and the US. A valid passport is needed for the travel.

What your impact will be:

  • Client Engagement & Support: Act as a trusted advisor to both new and existing clients, guiding them through the implementation process, resolving issues, and ensuring they are successfully utilizing our solutions. Lead user training on system setup, administration, and ongoing maintenance.

  • Business Analysis & Process Improvement: Conduct gap analyses, root cause analysis, and business process reviews to deeply understand client needs. Work closely with the project team to translate these insights into actionable solutions that help clients overcome obstacles and achieve their goals.

  • System Configuration & Customization: Apply your understanding of clients' business processes to configure our software solutions in a way that best supports their needs while aligning with industry best practices.

  • User Acceptance Testing (UAT) & Change Management: Own the UAT and change management process to ensure that the product meets stakeholder expectations. Facilitate client testing, training, and ensure smooth adoption by all users.

  • Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Create clear, comprehensive user documentation and ensure a seamless handover to support teams, enabling them to deliver excellent customer care. Share your expertise to build internal knowledge and empower others.

  • Client Success & Product Expansion: Proactively identify opportunities to recommend additional products and services that align with client needs, helping them exceed their expectations and further enhance their success.

  • Project Support & Resource Management: Support Project Managers by tracking engagement progress, identifying bottlenecks, and helping ensure that key project milestones are met on time. Optimize resource utilization to drive efficient service delivery.

  • Subject Matter Expertise & Innovation: Be a thought leader, leveraging your market knowledge to provide valuable insights to R& D and operational teams. Stay ahead of industry trends, ensuring that our products continue to meet and exceed market demands.

What we are looking for:

  • Knowledge of utility customer (meter to cash) life cycle.
  • Knowledge of a utility Customer Information System (CIS) processes and functionality.
  • Strong influencing, coaching, and communication (both written and verbal) skills across all levels of an organization.
  • Experience working with both business and IT groups.
  • Must be able to travel up 25% of the time within North America.

What would make you stand out:

  • Preferred experience in providing software implementation to the utility sector.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, with a willingness to ‘roll up sleeves’ and work at all levels of the client organization.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Business Technology Management, or Management Information Systems is nice to have.
  • Knowledge of SQL and experience in system configuration is helpful.
  • A passion for seeing others succeed.
  • Strong ability to manage ambiguity and navigate open-ended tasks with minimal guidance, staying focused on solutions.
  • Nimble in learning new technologies and approaches, with the resilience to adapt to shifting priorities and evolving client needs.
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced environments and able to thrive under pressure while maintaining a positive outlook.
