We are searching for the best talent for a Nordics Field Medical Advisor Cell Therapy.

Introduction and Overview

CAR-T is a new type of cancer treatment, which modifies a patient’s immune system cells to fight malignant cancer cells. This highly individualized treatment needs a special production and delivery process of which hospitals become an integral part: Patient’s cells are collected at the hospital, need to be shipped to the manufacturer for modification and must be delivered back to the hospital for timely application with the patient. JnJ wants to be a valuable and trusted partner of these new therapies by supporting hospitals in setting up those new processes and in becoming certified, and by ensuring a superior user and patient experience.

Nordic Field Medical Advisor Cell Therapy

We are now looking for a Nordic Field Medical Advisor Cell Therapy for cilta-cel, our innovative CAR-T therapy in for treatment of multiple myeloma. As a Field Medical Advisor Cell therapy, you will have medical responsibility, primarily in Sweden. We have a Nordic Cell therapy structure so you will also have Nordic tasks and responsibilities. Nordic Cell therapy is a part of the Nordic Rare Disease Unit. You will also interact with the local MM teams and European teams as well as key external stakeholders. The position will be placed in Sweden.

Objectives of the Position

The objective of the role is to improve company product value by being a cell therapy/CAR-T area scientific expert, responsible for discussing the CAR-T process and product, and patients’ treatment trends and relevant studies with a defined audience of Leading Specialists (Physicians, Pharmacists, Hospital Managers, Board Members of Scientific Societies, and other partners) and to be considered a trusted scientific counterpart and partner.

As a Field Nordic Medical Advisor Cell Therapy you will participate in and develop medical strategies and timely executed, with the objective of ensuring optimal launch and further a successful patient journey in all our markets.

Main areas of responsibility include:

  • Overall responsibility for the medical part of early launch of Cilta-cel
  • Act as a key site partner along with the Cell Therapy Account Lead (CTAL)
  • Ensure, in co-operation with the CTAL, training and support for the establishment of compliant and relevant site protocols and processes
  • Act as a reference point for other functions for any scientific query.
  • Coordinate and participate in medical education activities, e.g. identity, support, and educate speakers as well as build medical education programs with scientific third parties.
  • Continuously update own knowledge of products, patient’s treatment trends and clinical activities, as well as studies within the therapeutic area and patients’ treatment trends in the region.
  • Develop and maintain a contact network with leading specialists with particular focus on understanding their needs, key value drivers, and practical treatment patterns as well as championing the medical value of own products.
  • Communicate medical scientific data to leading specialists and broader external health care related audience both proactively and reactively.
  • Gain valuable insights into treatment patterns and scientific activities in the therapeutic area through scientific interactions and provide strategic input to the medical affairs plan and business decision-making.
  • Support Global Clinical Operations and CRO for clinical activities.
  • Support the Health Economy & Market Access team with medical and scientific input.
  • Improve the use of multi-channel communication.

Qualifications

  • A Minimum of Master of Science bachelor’s degree in medicine, pharmacy or life sciences or equivalent (required). Doctor of Medicine or a PhD in Life Sciences is a merit.
  • A minimum of 2 years of work experience in comparable roles (required), preferable within cell therapy (CAR-T) and/or hematology.
  • Healthcare, pharmaceutical or similar industry experience (preferred).
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office (required).
  • Valid driver’s license (required).
  • High proficiency in Swedish (required)
  • Proficiency English, verbal and written (required).
