ANC Transloading Inc. (ANCTI) is a diverse and agile organization providing transportation offloading via rail and truck, site services management, heavy equipment operation, and warehouse solutions both externally and internally on the Alberta Newsprint Company (ANC) mill site. ANCTI is wholly-owned by ANC. Located in Whitecourt, and operating with a non-unionized workforce, ANC’s paper mill—the first in Alberta—produces paper of such high quality that it has become the standard by which other paper products manufactured in North America are measured. ANCTI is currently recruiting for the role of Class 1 driver. Reporting to the ANCTI Operations Superintendent, the driver is a working position within the Transload team. The right candidate will be responsible for loading and delivering pulp sludge to various locations.

Transload operates rotating 4 on/4 off schedule. The candidate will generally work a 4 and 4 rotation days and nights. The actual shift will be determined at commencement.

• Safe and efficient operation of Class 1 vehicle, including loading/unloading, adhering to policy.
• Comply with all regulatory requirements.
• Safe operation of loader, skid steer.
• Support and uphold company values.
• Foster and co-ordinate teamwork between the different shifts.
• Conduct facility upkeep.
• Ensure inspections and maintenance of equipment is carried out.
• Complete daily tracking and reporting.
• Maintain current WHIMS and TDG regulatory certifications.
• Promote inter-crew safety and participate in tail gate meetings.
• Interact and coordinate with central safety representatives.
• Help in developing safe work procedures and best practices.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Class 1 license (required).
• 3 to 5 years minimum experience with Class 1 End Dump Truck.
• 5 years driver’s abstract showing safe driving habits.
• Loader operations preferred but on the job training available.
• Working knowledge of load securement, truck and axel weights.
