We are searching for the best talent for Sr Buyer/Planner.

Purpose:
Reporting to the Production Planning & Scheduling Manager, Sr Buyer/Planner will lead the production planning and inventory management teams including organizing and prioritizing goals and objectives in line with business strategy.

This role is crucial for collaborating with Global Planning Teams to assess and consolidate direct materials supply demand, manage supply risks with external suppliers and business partners, and escalate significant issues to senior stakeholders to mitigate short- and medium-term supply challenges.

This role will be a subject matter expert for the site ERP system. This will involve testing and ensuring all necessary transactions are operational, working with the IT teams to develop the system, and the training of team members.

This Leader will work closely with our in-house business excellence team to ensure all site standards are met.

You will be responsible for:

In accordance with all applicable federal, state and local laws/regulations and Corporate Johnson & Johnson, procedures and guidelines, this position:

  • Will provide technical planning leadership and mentoring to the Production Planning & Scheduling team and will be required to support and drive process and system improvement projects in line with business needs.
  • Oversees planning team responsibilities: converting the consensus demand forecast into production plans which provide high levels of customer service, optimal distribution center inventories and incorporate effective contingencies for appropriate risks and initiatives.
  • Is responsible for managing finished goods, raw materials and WIP inventory levels.
  • Leads, monitors, assesses, and communicates risks on key supply chain related issues, providing regular updates to senior management
  • Support the evaluation of current processes and the transition to improved future processes in conjunction with the wider global PP& L team, including measuring and reporting progress at specified intervals
  • Regularly reviews and updates operating procedures while providing necessary training.
  • Is responsible for following all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices as applicable.
  • For those who supervise or manage a staff, is responsible for ensuring that subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition, if applicable
  • Is responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Performs other duties assigned as needed

Qualifications / Requirements:

Experience and education

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics & transportation, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a production planning environment
  • Experience in medical device operations/cGMP environment highly desirable
  • Ability to develop communications that are properly structured providing clear, concise messages that draw well supported conclusions.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain management principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage supplier relationships effectively.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and systems used in supply chain and warehouse management.
  • Project management tools and techniques. Six Sigma and/or Lean Certification (FPX, JJOS, JJPS, Green Belt or Black Belt) is preferred.
  • Understanding of Health, Safety and legal requirements for the safe operation of the team
  • Fluent in English and Spanish.

Required knowledge, skills, abilities, certifications/licenses and affiliations

  • Stakeholder management of multi decision makers, colleagues, peers and cross functional teams.
  • Expertise in production planning, scheduling and inventory management.
  • Ability to make effective decisions.
  • Minimum of 5 years leading a team in similar environment of logistics, warehouse, or supply chain operations.
  • Strong analytical skills to make quantitative projections and recommendations.
  • Demonstrated ability to fully realize improvement initiatives.
  • Must be proactive, self-motivated, and have a demonstrated ability to follow assignments through to completion
  • Strong working knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP/SAP EWM or similar (JDE, Oracle, WMS, IMs)
