Job Description:

Are you ready to lead one of the most strategic manufacturing sites in Johnson & Johnson MedTech’s global supply chain? We’re looking for a visionary, dynamic, and purpose-driven Plant Leader to spearhead operations at our brand-new, state-of-the-art Orthopaedics manufacturing facility in Grecia, Costa Rica, part of our new MedTech campus—a hub of innovation, collaboration, and excellence in medical device manufacturing.

As the Orthopaedics Plant Leader, you will be the driving force behind the operational excellence, strategic execution, and cultural transformation of our Grecia site. This site will be pivotal to delivering life-changing orthopaedic solutions to patients around the world.

You’ll lead the plant through its most critical phases—from post-construction operationalization and validation to full-scale commercial production—while fostering a culture of quality, compliance, safety, and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute manufacturing strategies that align with global supply chain goals, driving cost optimization, quality improvement, and operational excellence.
  • Operational Execution: Manage resources effectively to meet customer service, financial, and EHS targets. Leverage data-driven tools and dashboards to monitor performance.
  • Quality & Compliance: Champion a zero-defect culture and ensure full compliance with global regulatory standards (ISO 13485, ISO14001, OSHAS18001).
  • Financial Stewardship: Deliver on business plan commitments, drive cost improvement initiatives, and manage plant budgets with precision.
  • Organizational Development: Build a high-performing, inclusive leadership team. Develop succession plans and foster a compelling work environment where every associate thrives.
  • Community Engagement: Act as a key ambassador for the site, building strong relationships with local communities and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree is required in Sciences, Engineering, Supply Chain (preferred) or related fields.
  • Minimum 12 years’ experience in operations, with deep expertise in FDA-regulated environments and large-scale manufacturing.
  • A minimum of 5 years people management experience required
  • Proven ability to lead large, diverse teams in a multinational setting.
  • Experience in functions such as plan, source, manufacturing, deliver, quality, or engineering highly preferred.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish highly preferred.
  • Strong command of Lean, Six Sigma, and data analytics tools. Certification preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 20%
