We are searching for the best talent for a Operations Manager to be in Grecia, Costa Rica.
Purpose:
Is responsible to direct production activities for multiple manufacturing lines to deliver products that meet quality specifications and achieve or exceed service levels and cost targets while ensuring employees are safe and follow required procedures, complying with applicable regulations and company policies.
You will be responsible for:
In accordance with all applicable federal, state and local laws/regulations and Corporate Johnson & Johnson, procedures and guidelines, this position:
- Reviews production schedules and coordinates manufacturing resources to ensure timely delivery of products and components, while be sure to comply with Quality System requirements.
- Interacts and collaborates with other departments to solve any restriction that may stop or slow down production, including material, personnel, equipment and process issues.
- Responsible for planning budget and control expenses applicable to production area to comply or exceed Business Unit financial targets.
- Identifies and coordinates cost reduction projects including labor productivity, land use, inventory optimization and defects reduction, using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma tools.
- Coordinates research and implementation of preventive and corrective actions that may result from production non-conformances, audit observations, CAPA and others.
- Ensures comply with QSR, ISO and Environment, HS requirements, as well as all applicable company procedures and policies.
- Provides timely and effective support for new products introduction and existent process transferences to Business Unit.
- Develops and maintains department metrics to monitor performance and coordinates actions to ensure improvements.
- Manage employee development and maintain updated and verified training records.
- Recognizes and rewards performance and teamwork.
- Develop strategies to detect business needs in Culture matters.
- Enables activities and programs related to building strategic capabilities and driving a culture that embraces and advances J& J´s Credo, Innovation and performance.
- Identifies supports and solves labor issues in coordination with Human Resources Department.
- As part of the responsibilities includes perform interviews, hire and train employees, plan, assign and manage workload to monitor their development, reward and discipline employees, manage conflicts.
- Responsible for communicating business-related issues or opportunities to next management level.
- For those who supervise or manage a staff, responsible for ensuring that subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition, if applicable.
- Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Performs other duties assigned as needed.
Qualifications / Requirements:
- Academic degree in Engineering, Business Administration or related fields; a master’s degree is preferred.
- 6 to 8 years of relevant experience in Operations, Manufacturing, or a related field, preferably within the medical products or pharmaceutical industry; at least 3 to 5 years in a managerial capacity.
- Experience in leadership roles and a deep understanding of supply chain management.
- Knowledge of warehouse logistics, engineering and manufacturing operations.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Strong in-depth knowledge of tech transfer and start-up activities, quality assurance requirements, GMP, and safety compliance.
- Proven financial analysis, budgeting, and cost management skills.
- Exceptional leadership and motivational skills with a commitment to operational excellence.
- Ability to learn rapidly and adapt to new challenges.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of presenting complex information effectively to diverse audiences.
- Driving strategic change to meet changing business needs and exploring new business models is required.
- Problem-solving and analytical abilities, with experience in conflict resolution and negotiation.
- Knowledge of quality control standards and regulations, including compliance with ISO and QSR.
- Knowledge of ERP systems, automation tools, and industry-specific software.
Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Experience of working in cross functional teams.
- Proficient in use of Power BI, AI, Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, SharePoint and other Microsoft Office Suite components preferred.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
