Description:

As a finance intern at Schneider Electric, you will have the opportunity to work within our Prosumer division, which focuses on empowering individuals and communities to become active players in the energy transition from a financial perspective. You will be part of a dynamic team dedicated to developing innovative financial solutions that enable customers to generate, consume, and share energy in a sustainable and efficient manner. This internship will provide you with hands-on experience and exposure to various financial aspects of the Prosumer business, helping you build a strong foundation in finance within the energy industry.

  • Financial Analysis: Conducting in-depth analysis of financial data, including revenue, costs, and profitability. This involves using various financial ratios, metrics, and models to assess performance and identify trends.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborating with different departments to create accurate budgets and forecasts. This involves analyzing historical data, market trends, and business strategies to develop financial plans and projections.
  • Financial Reporting: Coordinating, consolidating, and analyzing to provide regular financial reports with insights for management and the group during the reporting cycle using HFM/Essbase/Tableau, for example, monthly closing, rolling forecasts, strategic review, and target process.
  • Variance Analysis: Analyzing and explaining differences between actual financial results and budget/forecast targets. This helps identify areas of concern, potential risks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Financial Modeling: Building and maintaining financial models to simulate different scenarios and assess the impact of various financial decisions. This aids in strategic decision-making, investment evaluation, and risk assessment.
  • Business Partnership: Collaborating with operational units and providing financial information to support decision-making. This involves working closely with stakeholders to understand their needs, provide financial guidance, and help them achieve their objectives.
Profile sought:

Student, in a top business school or university working towards a Master's in Business Administration, Finance, or Economics

  • Strong analytical and numerical skills
  • A first experience in Finance would be a plus
  • Motivated, resilient, and dynamic individual, with a critical and perfectionist mindset
  • Ability to work on multiple subjects simultaneously, deliver results within tight deadlines, and demonstrate strong organizational skills
  • Strong communication skills, ability to work effectively in a multicultural team and organization
  • Proficiency in English (oral and written): internship entirely conducted in this language
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, especially Excel and PowerPoint Passion for Schneider Electric's mission and values
