Your role As Head of Design System & Experience Platform, on a six-month fixed-term contract renewable, you will define and lead a unified, scalable, intelligent, and future-ready digital experience across all Schneider Electric digital products. You will be responsible for the vision, governance, evolution, and adoption of Quartz, Schneider Electric's Design System. Quartz provides designers and developers with reusable foundations, standards, patterns, and components to improve experience consistency, team efficiency, and digital product development speed. Your mission will also be to evolve Quartz from a Design System into a fully-fledged Experience Platform, capable of supporting both traditional graphical interfaces and new AI-powered experiences. You will act as a strategic partner to the Digital Experience, Product, Engineering, Architecture, Brand, Marketing, Data, and AI teams. You will align design excellence with Schneider Electric's transformation and value-creation objectives. You will report to the VP Digital Experience, AI & Innovation and manage a multidisciplinary team of approximately 10 employees.

For this France based position, the expected pay range is EUR 96.480 - EUR 144.720 per year. This pay range includes base pay and short-term incentives (annual bonus) at target. - Encouraging experimentation in AI-assisted design, personalization, generated content, and intelligent workflows
- Anticipating technological developments and evolving user expectations

- Leading the Design System's interface and front-end component strategy
- Defining and evolving governance frameworks, decision-making processes, and contribution models
- Overseeing design foundations, design tokens, component libraries, UX patterns, and documentation

- Leading the adoption of Quartz across Business Units, product teams, and digital platforms
- Defining and implementing change management, communication, training, and enablement strategies
- Supporting designers, developers, Product Owners, and Product Managers in using the platform
- Developing Design System ambassador programs
- Building and leading communities of practice

You will build, lead, and develop an experienced, multidisciplinary Design Platform team.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing a team of approximately 10 employees
- Defining the team's objectives, priorities, success metrics, and ways of working
- Recruiting, developing, and retaining talent across Product Management, UX/UI Design, Design Operations, and Front-End Development
- Fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning
- Strengthening the team's capabilities in AI-powered experiences and tools
- Overseeing resource planning and the organization's strategic capability needs
- Managing external partners, vendors, and the related governance mechanisms
- Evolving the team's structure and capabilities in line with Schneider Electric's ambitions
- You have at least 10 years of experience in Digital Experience, Product Design, UX/UI Design, Design Systems, Design Operations, Product Management, or a directly related field
- You have significant experience as a designer and deep expertise in UX and UI
- You have successfully led, developed, or scaled an enterprise Design System or digital platform
- You have strong expertise in design foundations, design tokens, component libraries, UX patterns, accessibility, and Design-to-Code practices
- You have a solid understanding of front-end technologies and the challenges involved in design and engineering collaboration
- You have proven experience managing and developing experienced multidisciplinary teams
- You can define a strategic vision while remaining sufficiently close to operational topics
- You have worked within international, matrixed, or complex organizations
- You can engage with executive stakeholders and present recommendations to senior leaders
- You have strong stakeholder management, change management, influencing, and communication skills
- You can build alignment across Design, Product, Engineering, Architecture, Brand, Marketing, Data, and AI teams
- You can define a roadmap, priorities, success metrics, and governance models
- You have a strong interest in innovation, emerging technologies, and the transformation of experiences through artificial intelligence
- Experience in Human-AI Interaction, conversational design, AI Design Patterns, or Responsible AI would be an asset
- You are curious, diplomatic, and able to engage stakeholders with varying expectations
- You are fluent in English
- You have a purely Front-End Engineering background without significant design experience.
- You have general UX/UI expertise but no hands-on experience with Design Systems.
- You do not yet have a strong level of management, governance, and influencing experience. This is not solely a Lead Designer or Design System Designer role.
