Role reports to: FemCare R& D Deployment Manager
Location: Pomezia - Santa Palomba [Italy]
Travel %: 10-20% potentially

What you will do

The Senior Scientist FemCare R& D will be accountable for the execution of projects linked to brand strategy, with demonstrated rigor and organizational knowledge and embedded sustainability. This role will deliver technical expertise in Engineered Products / Feminine Care and R& D leadership for our project execution with human-centered insights and cross-functional collaboration. This role will collaborate closely with the region and manufacturing sites for Feminine Care products.

Project execution
  • Deliver engineered product development and scale-up for Feminine Care products.
  • Optimize engineered ingredients to meet objectives and raw material availability.
  • Support technical R& D functions, define the execution pathway, ensure deliverables remain on track, and support technical problem-solving.
  • Operate semi-independent of technical direction.
  • Execute pipeline activities including evaluation of new materials.
  • Support product science consumer-centric visualization in partnership with translational science colleagues
  • Execute technical project work, including scale-up activities and analysis, with hands-on involvement.
  • Manage routine organizational processes and complexity.
  • Deliver guidance and solutions to technical problems.
  • Provide progress/updates to the cross-functional project team.
  • Follow standards and ensure the department meets quality, medical, and regulatory requirements.
  • Deliver all development document E2E for the development product process compliantly.

Technical Understanding
  • Deliver engineered product technologies expertise of Feminine Care products.
  • Optimize engineered ingredients to meet objectives and raw materials availability.
  • Coordinate with external partners, Suppliers, Clinical sites, and testing laboratories to support new product activity. (if applicable)
  • Monitor equipment operations and maintain cleanliness in the laboratory. (if applicable)
  • Maintain awareness of new and emerging technologies and the potential applications of our brands and products.

Internal/external partnership management
  • Coordinate day-to-day interaction with global Hubs and external development partnerships (as needed)
  • Prepares project spending budgets, proposals, progress reports, and portfolio management procedures that articulate precise project initiation, development, and termination criteria.
  • Identifies changes or develops new business/work processes to share knowledge.

What we are looking for

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Science, Engineering, Pharmacy
  • 2 years of related experience is required.
  • Experience with engineered products is required.
  • FMCG Cosmetics, OTC, or pharmaceutical experience is required.
  • Solid technical foundation of engineered products, including diapers, feminine napkins, tampons, etc, and an understanding of material chemistry and process / manufacturing equipment is required.
  • Fluent written and oral English communication skills are required. German is desirable.
  • Process development/process scale-up experience is suggested.
  • Experience working with manufacturing and technical project management is required.
