Description:
The MVO engineering CoE (center of Excellence) has the mandate to train, coach, support, assess & provide expertise on all engineering methods & tools related to the development of our MV offers (namely: DFSR, PDM, CAD, Eco-design, Electromechanical design), with a worldwide footprint.
We are currently looking for an enthusiastic Regional Component Support Engineer for China Hub (Shanghai, Xiamen, Beijing, Suzhou).
This individual will collaborate closely with MVO China design teams as well as global corporate TSM (Technology Standardization management) to enhance efficiency in creating components & raw materials in Schneider Electric CSM library, as required by R& D needs ensuring compliance with purchasing & environmental regulations and standards.
Main Role
Be the MV China engineering interface connecting with TSM department (Technology & Standardization Management) to drive standard components related to Medium Voltage projects including the necessary cleaning and update of the existing products.
You may have to participate occasionally to national or international travels in Schneider R& D centers, manufacturing plants or Suppliers and to contribute to specific or transversal actions, like migration & integration of specific entities & perimeters.
The position is based in Shanghai preferably, or Xiamen.
Key responsibilities / activities:
As MVO Engineering CoE China Regional Component Support Engineer (RCSE) your role will be to:
- support & coach the Medium Voltage China engineering team on TSM processes, promote the usage of CSM environment (no internal part creation for standard components)
- collect all new components & raw material requests coming from design, ensure a complete requests portfolio management
- manage the appropriate component/raw material creation requests (CSM workflow), leveraging commonalities & priorities from needs collection
- challenge TSM teams on leadtime, quality & cost, escalate whenever necessary (MVO and TSM escalation)
- optimize workload by building bridges, joining opportunities, and setting priorities based on R& D challenges
- ensure the correct application of the Components Supplier Management (CSM) policy (you will do the requests directly in CSM, on behalf of designers).
- master and track the products Bill of Materials quality & compliancy regarding standard parts, components, raw materials and surface treatments, considering the whole PDM & OLM rules
- Audit Product Bill of Materials health status to continuously improve component standardization in MV China
- propose analytics & KPIs to track efficiency, and ensure proper data for all analytics related to CSM objects in the PBOM (mass calculation, RoHS, REACH, CO2 footprint & product environmental profiles...)
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Educational Background: Bachelor + degree in Mechanical design and manufacturing, material, etc.
- 3+ years of successful experience as Mechanical Design Engineer, Change owner, Technical Support Engineer, Component Engineer etc.
- knowledge of Schneider Electric PDM & OLM processes & tools
- Good communications skills, including written and spoken English, ability to work efficiently as part of a worldwide and international team (study or work experience abroad is a plus)

- Data analytics & AI skills are a plus
