Overall Role Purpose

  • The Communications Manager’s prime responsibility is to develop and implement market leading communications, promotions and Internal Communications through all elements of the Marketing Mix. These will be executed both internally and externally. The Communications Manager must ensure all communications adhere to the brand guidelines and values set by DHL.
  • Assistance to the Marketing Manager will also be required on a day-to-day basis across all marketing activity helping to ensure all communication strategies are met.

Your Tasks:

  • Handle creative agency at all levels from initial briefing through to execution of communications this will also include budgetary management.
  • Arrange Customer Hospitality in accordance with sales and marketing objectives.
  • Produce and drive internal and external communication plan and strategy in conjunction with the Functional Managers across the business.
  • Coordinate sponsorship suppliers to assure events meet specific objectives.
  • Implement efficient give-away strategy including purchase and distribution, ensuring optimum customer relationships.
  • Develop promotions resulting in optimum Sales Force education when required.
  • Post campaign evaluation and research as and when required – return on investment Analysis.
  • Weekly status project updates to include forecasting where appropriate.
  • Monthly project presentations.
  • Consistently lead internal functions efficiently delivering projects on time and on budget.
  • All IKOs will be set at the beginning of the year according to Marketing budget and plan.
  • Marketing activities and associated projects need to be delivered to meet the business strategy and changing environment.
  • Help with the organization of customer and sporting events to support the business needs of reaching sustainable audience thus raising brand and product profile.
  • Develop corporate literature and advertising in line with global, regional and country design, copy, branding and quality standards.
  • Organization of Media Purchase and placement ensuring quality, timelines and progressing relationships with media suppliers as part of position development.
  • Ensure filing, maintenance and distribution of marketing material including competitor information and DHL literature.
  • Efficiently handle all external agencies to ensure approved project and budget is adhered to with approved quality - especially give away, communications and printed material.
  • Ensure the team stays Motivated and IKO targets is set for them along with an annual development plan.
  • The annual evaluation process to be followed and adhered to.
  • Work to agreed development goals.
  • Facilitate the communications management; cascading appropriates messages to all staff.
  • Working on internal campaigns and events to ensure that all DHL members are well informed, educated and encouraged.
  • Full ownership of country Intranet web page.
  • Carry out specific projects and other ad-hoc projects ensuring delivery to time, cost, quality and standards.

  • 3-5years marketing or project management related experience.
  • Bachelor's degree with Marketing/PR specialization.
  • Experience in conceiving and delivering ideas to piers and third parties.
  • Ability to lead multiple tasks and long-term projects efficiently.
  • Ability to Excelled with tight time frame and deliver work on a timely manner and budget.
  • Creative and analytical ability.
  • Able to work as part of a motivated team.
  • Ability to maintain an Excellent working relationship.
  • Ability to run suppliers and supplier relationships in a cost-effective fashion.
  • Proactive approach, task and results oriented, with dedication to quality output.

  • The ability to speak, write, and read Arabic & English fluently.
