ROLE PURPOSE:

The courier is responsible for sorting, delivering and picking up all inbound and outbound shipments within the service area designated by the company as per prescribed quality levels of service to our customers.

YOUR TASKS:

Timely and Professional Inbound and Outbound Shipments:

  • Ensure the prompt and professional delivery of all inbound shipments within designated cycles, meeting DHL standards for time-sensitive shipments like TDK (before 09: 00 AM) and TDT (before 12: 00 PM).
  • Collect outbound shipments within established time frames, facilitating smooth handover for outbound processing.

    Accurate Shipment Scanning and Data Management:
  • Complete shipment scanning and system requirements accurately and promptly, ensuring the timely download of data for 100% accuracy and timely processing within the network.

    Detailed Record-Keeping:
  • Electronically record all shipment process activities via scanner or manual methods when necessary, maintaining meticulous records in line with DHL standards.

    Comprehensive Paperwork Management:
  • Ensure that all necessary paperwork associated with pickups and deliveries is fully completed to DHL standards before shipments are sent for re-weighing, guaranteeing the accuracy of shipments.

    Effective Communication and Customer Service:
  • Communicate professionally with dispatch, adhering to time deadlines to ensure timely action on all pickups and requests as committed to our customers.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism and communication with both internal and external customers, upholding DHL's professional image.
    Promotion of DHL Services:
  • Promote and upsell DHL services and value-added offerings such as TDD, TDI, Import Express, and Insurance.
  • Actively participate in the Sales lead incentive program, contributing to company revenue goals.

    Vehicle Maintenance and Safe Driving:
  • Ensure the cleanliness and tidiness of the vehicle at all times, aligning with DHL's image.
  • Drive carefully and safely in accordance with traffic regulations, prioritizing the safety of both self and others on the road.
    Compliance and Safe Working Practices:
  • Adhere to ground operation Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) outlined in the manual.
  • Follow safe working practices both within and outside the workplace to maintain a secure and efficient operational environment.

    Proactive Security Measures:
  • Maintain a proactive approach to the security of freight, facility, and personnel.
  • Suggest and implement smarter work practices through teamwork to meet all Key Performance Indicator (KPI) standards, continually enhancing services for our customers.
  • Adhere to work timings, policies and procedures of the company, housekeeping guidelines and ensure that self is well groomed as per DHL dress code at all times.
  • Comply with the rules and terms and conditions outlined in the DHL Vehicles Policy.
  • Ensure the security and integrity of all shipments whilst in your Vehicle.
  • Ensure to collect all cash transactions resulting from the delivery or collection of shipments.
  • Comply with health and safety rules and wearing DHL uniform and safety shoes, etc.

Educational requirements:

  • high school

Desired Skills:

  • Minimum experience of 1 -3 years is required in a service industry, preferably with good knowledge of the Areas and Block Numbers, Roads, etc. in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
  • Must have a valid driving license and obtain a higher licences class if job required it.
  • Prior experience in a service industry, preferably with good knowledge of the Areas and Block Numbers, Roads, etc. in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
  • Have a valid Bahrain driving licence.
  • Minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Excellent or Above average verbal and written English communication skills; Arabic communication skills is an added advantage.
  • Demonstrates high level of commitment, energy and resilience. Committed to delivering quality results and exceeding expectations.
  • Self-motivated and able to work pressure and time deadlines.
  • Good planning & organising skills.
  • Passion for delighting customers and good at building relationships and interpersonal skills.
